@Riot; question about behavior; "Account sharing"/"Account inheriting"

I recently came into possession of a new account from a friend that has quit the game. He will not play it again or at least its incredibly unlikely, it is basically my account now , however... I was not the original owner.

Does this qualify as "Account sharing" and will this new account be potentially banned in the future because of it? (NOT THE ONE I'M USING RIGHT NOW, I've had this one since early S2 and no one but me has ever played on it)

If you're not the original player on the account, it's against the Terms of Service.

dude. just read ToS. It can not get any clearer. NO ACCOUNT SHARING WHATSOEVER. please, just the tiniest bit of research tells you that.

it is account trading - and against terms of conditions as well as acount sharing ...

From Riot's point of view, yes the account qualify's to be banned. Regardless of the reasons for why you have it now, it fits into their ToS definition and they won't hold any exceptions for you. No reasoning you bring into this discussion will change it, you've asked and everyone has answered. You aren't going to convince Riot, so don't even try to convince anyone else on here.

Though, I doubt they'll actually realize you are not the original user unless you or someone else makes it known to them. So do what you will with all this information.

It is against terms of service. It is well within Riot's stated policy to ban that account if you choose to use it.

...However, it isn't guaranteed. I know several people who play on accounts that were gifted from others, with no expectation of monetary or account return. They have not been banned. There is no 100% certainty that Riot will ban the account. I don't even think Riot actively pursues account sharing bans, because it is the most benign of the offences that can happen.

Imo, the account sharing rules are primarily to maintain responsibility of the account owner regarding behavioral offenses (i.e. 'my little bro did all those things, not me' or 'I never scripted (but my MMR booster did)')
