Perma Banned After Not Being On For Months?

I received an email a few days ago saying I have been perma banned for using like illegal or third party software. I've not had no email to say someone has tried to change my password and possibly hack my account. I also haven't logged into league or played it for months, so this came as a surprise and i'm really wondering why this has happened. Anyone got any ideas ?

EDIT: Just seen on my match history someone played on the 28/8 using Xerath and got 7/6/6 so clearly someone got hold of my account but when i tried to log in there was a 2 step verifcation to my email,no idea how they got on my account

You need to change the password on your email account too. They likely have access to that as well.

it's just a level 15 account... legit... not worth your efforts of fighting with riot. if you want to play, just create a new one

I just had the same thing happen to me Ive had this account for 10 years now. someone hacked me and played 2 games after i got off my last one last night.
