Banned cause Flame Baited.

I got perm banned ON THIS ACCOUNT because I responded to a flame bait, which looking back was a horrible and dumb thing to do. Does RIOT do anything to protect people who get flame baited and then banned? Or do they do anything to the person causing the flame bait? And for people who do not know, Flame Bait is when people do or say things to make you mad and probably do it to troll you and get you banned or to frustrate you (Tbagging, harassment WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING OFFENSIVE[so they dont get banned]). I honestly think I should of got a 30 day ban NOT a perm ban. I should NOT have repsonded to the flame bait, and the person flame baiting should be punished without a report being needed.

That makes no sense though. If he didn't get reported then that means his team had no problem with him, so he shouldn't get punished if his team was okay with his behavior.

Yes. They gave us the mute function. That's the best protection they gave us. It's the personal problem that triggers the issue. It takes self-control not to respond or engage with negativity. You get only so many warnings. If Riot cannot see an individual reforming, then there's no point in keep punishing them. They simply have to take away the account.

Should have muted them.

but flame baiting is completely voluntary, you never need to respond, and can simply just /mute all.

I'm sorry you got flame baited, that isn't a very fun thing to happen or very fair for you. However, if you ever sense an negativity from a player, my suggestion is that you mute them immediately, and do not engage in conversation with them for the rest of the game.
