I don't know why I got a 14 day suspension for this

I received a 14 day suspension for the following chat. I was playing support in a ranked game and things were going fine until we started to lose towers. My top laner, Malphite referred to me as a stupid whore bitch. This is how I responded exactly, can provide reform card. I was told "we don't give second chances for suspensions" by a Riot employee. I genuinely don't understand. Can someone please explain?

Considering you got a 14 day ban for toxicity, it means you're a repeat offender, it goes 10 game restrict, 25 game chat restrict into a 14 day suspension, so I guess you're just gonna have to learn your lesson?

You was toxic to your teammate. If you had already 25 games chat rest. After it comes 14 days ban. Be careful from now on since the next ban is gonna be pernament. If i was you , i would change my toxic behaviour in order to save my account.

First let's get these out of the way.

  1. It's possible you don't remember getting a 25-game chat restriction if you've gone a long time without playing. The thing is the only way to improve your account standing is to actually play games and show improved behavior in them. Simply going inactive for a long time doesn't work to improve it.
  2. Your overall attitude here is not helping your case. By picking fights with people who disagree with you and accusing them of being "part of the group that's the problem" you're only giving people the impression that your ban was actually deserved. This is something allot of punished players tend to do (turn hostile in the face of opposition) and it just ends up biting them in the butt.
  3. "They started it/were worse" doesn't work here. Everyone is responsible for their behavior and is judged based on their own behavioral history. This means that something that got A a 14-day ban might only get B a 10-game chat restriction if B has a less consistent history of poor behavior.
  4. It only takes 1 report to flag a game for review, which is then thrown out if nothing of guilt is found. Multiple reports don't change this.

Now onto your case:

Early on it's easy to see that Malphite is causing trouble for everyone in the game, and to your credit you do try decently well to get everyone to focus on the game game and not the blame game, though your approach could've been a bit better, such as not being so eager to give up early on. Where it starts to go downhill is here:

PamP00vey : LMFAO PamP00vey : Okay PamP00vey : False reporting is also reportable PamP00vey : Go ahead PamP00vey : I'll do the same PamP00vey : Okay, boomer. PamP00vey : I didn't int, no one followed up. PamP00vey : But thanks for the abusive chat report. PamP00vey : That will go nicely for you. PamP00vey : Okay. ^^ PamP00vey : Get reported as well. PamP00vey : 1-6 PamP00vey : Awh. PamP00vey : false reports reportable PamP00vey : go ahead PamP00vey : I'll do the same PamP00vey : Enjoy the abusive chat ban tho PamP00vey : Imagine being a jerk in a video game PamP00vey : Awh. PamP00vey : Ego so fragie PamP00vey : I'm not toxic. PamP00vey : I haven't said a word that's toxic. PamP00vey : what did I say that was toxic, Nunu? PamP00vey : Name it. PamP00vey : Awh. PamP00vey : I really don't care, you'll get chat banned. PamP00vey : Okay. ^^ PamP00vey : Enjoy PamP00vey : It isn't a threat. It's happening. Go off.

Pretty much all of this is pointless arguing, provocation and taunting, not to mention calling for reports coupled with some insults here and there. Everyone already has to deal with the Malphite, and all this accomplished is turning you into another problem player your team has to deal with. Sure the Malphite was being toxic, but can you honestly really say that this behavior of yours makes you any better than he was? Sure you weren't slinging curses or slurs but you were still going out of your way to provoke him and basically contribute to the negative atmosphere of the game, something which Nunu clearly noticed and called you out on. In that aspect Malphite won by dragging you down with him.

Also, I find it interesting and somewhat ironic how the very first line you spoke was this:

PamP00vey : don't be negative

Yet you spiraled down into negativity the further the game went on.

Advice:

Mute the problem players instead of arguing with them. Most people who act up in chat are looking for a negative reaction from others. If you don't give them it then chances are they'll shape up and focus their efforts on the game. This doesn't always work but it's better than the alternative, and at the very least you don't run the risk of being dragged down with them. Don't intentionally try to provoke people into being (more) toxic. If they're intentionally acting up then you're just one more toxic person to deal with, and if they're not then you're only contributing to their frustration. Either way you're just being a bully that's sealing their own fate. Know when to stop. I get that this can be hard to do especially in the heat of the moment, but sometimes it can be worth taking a step back and thinking if it's really worth it to continue trying to converse with someone who's not being receptive. Refocusing your efforts on the game is more important and better in the long run than arguing with someone for the majority of the game is.

What you do with this analysis and advice is up to you, but just keep in mind that your account is on thin ice now. Any further problematic behavior will result in a permaban. You've been warned.

My Verdict: Punish.

Did you know .. threatening other's account (calling for reports) is considered a harassment?

There's actually no need to ask for reports at all, nor is there a need to defend against them.

All a report does is to flag the system to review the game. The toxicity score returned from the review will be the same regardless of how many times a player was reported within the same game. It is also possible for the system to return a toxicity score of 0 if there was no toxicity found within the game. 1 report does the same thing as 9 reports.

Now the system punishes based on consistency x severity, meaning you can be punished for 1 game of extreme toxicity or many games of mild toxicity. Digital threats are considered mild in toxicity, so it will take a bunch of similar games before you get punished.

Also, in regards to that Malphite using more toxicity than you and not punished; It is possible for playerA to get punished and playerB not to, even though playerB was waaayyyyy more toxic . Let's say playerA started the game with the toxicity meter at 95% and playerB's at 35%. Ingame, playerB said some pretty nasty shit and playerA responds with some small shit as well. After the game, playerA gains 10% toxicity and playerB gains 50%. Now playerA is at 105% toxicity and gets punished, whereas playerB is at 85%, and not punished in that specific game, even though playerB was found to be 5x more toxic than playerA in that game.

Shouldn't be a 2 week suspension if this was your first offence. I'd appeal it if this was just the first one. "Okay boomer" is a CR. Other than that, I see you mostly threatening to report and that's it. Threats on reporting and telling someone that they will get chat banned, that's usually a CR as well.

All in all - Don't ask for reports or say that you will report them. Do not argue. Anything negative can get you punished. That's Riot's policy right now. So yeah, simply mute-report or mute everyone from the get-go.

Submit a ticket and appeal this for a reduced punishment. If you've had prior CR's then they will let you know. And it doesn't matter if you go off to work for long intervals. When you play the game and have a CR, it tells you exactly how many messages you can post and how many more games you've got left off to work those off. Plus your Honor level gets reset to 0. All this tells you that you've received a CR. If you didn't notice all this then I dunno what to say. But if you didn't have it in the first place then their punishment is definitely overdone.

Good luck, I hope that it was just the first offence and it gets reduced! [galio-happy]

PamP00vey : False reporting is also reportable

For future reference, this is absolutely false btw. There is no such thing as report weight nor is anyone getting punished for the act of reporting someone.

True though it may be that arguing and blaming teammates is against the terms of service or whatever, I think most people would become defensive in a situation like the one you're describing. In fact, I know pro players frequently argue with their teammates over misplays; many usually end up muting when it's clear the discussion isn't going anywhere, and that's what I tend to do as well, but it's difficult not to defend yourself or fire back when you feel attacked. If someone asked me what kind of behavior is toxic in this context I wouldn't point to your chat logs as an example.

From what i see you do not deserve a punishment

The reality is that if riot expects positive people and teamwork based interactions why do they implement a useless communication system that lets you speak to only your party members which completely makes it pointless because if you duo q or you are in a party with someone chances are you use discord anyway or have other means of communication the game needs a voice system for ranked

The game right now is designed to put you in a frustrating situation because you have no way to tell your bad team mates to stop doing certain things otherwise you can be considered flaming even though most of the time its a response to a garbage player ruining a game and wasting peoples time which is the real issue not someone typing.

People have been flaming in video games since their existence riot has created an atmosphere where they want to be the speech police therefore making the game a snowflake utopia of overly offended players who cant take criticism and never evolve mentally this is the only game that has a huge toxicity problem in its community on this scale so its not like the system is drastically improving the community.
