This is what I don't get about League's moderation

I have been permanently banned on about 4 accounts and am currently suspended on 2 accounts. The most common reason I get banned is because I get angry at my teammates primarily in two instances:

  1. My most played role is jungler, and I often get players pinning all their issues on me, i.e. if they get ganked because they are pushed 24/7 they start spam pinging me saying "wtf jungler???", to which I usually respond negatively ( saying something like "pls shut up, it's not my fault you're not playing properly" )

or

  1. My 2nd most played role is ADC, and I often get supports who are beyond awful. I don't expect to get an Aphromoo-level support every time I queue up, but I also don't think it's unreasonable to expect the very basics. For example, I get supports that like to build damage items instead of support items. Then we get die due to lack of vision, I say "can you please get wards instead of Deathcap as first item", to which they respond "no" ( which tilts me, and so I start bitching ) or I tell them at the very beginning of the game something like "hey, we're up against Draven, let's just play passive so he doesn't snowball" and the support just runs it down bot playing ultra aggressive 24/7 and dies within the first 30 seconds of the laning phase ( which, anyone who has ever played against Draven knows it's over at that point, unless by some miracle the Draven throws and you guys comeback mid to late ) and I bitch.

The reason why I am making this post is because as I said, I have been playing since 2012 and have yet to reform. Partly because I don't know how to and also because I don't really think I'm the issue here. Let me give you an example that better describes what's happening.

Let's say you have a painter. One day, the painter decides he wants to create a large painting, and so he finds an assistant to help him with it. He starts painting, and after he's made some progress he tells his assistant "go get the green bucket of paint, I'm about to start painting the grass". The assistant runs, grabs the bucket of green paint and splashes it onto the canvas. Immediately, the painter says "WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING?", and the assistant says "Dude, relax, it's just a painting."

Furthermore, a third guy walks into the room hearing all the ruckus. The guy says "Hey, what's all the commotion about?". The painter says "I told my assistant to go get a bucket of paint and instead of just bringing it to me, he splashed it all over the canvas and now I have to start all the way over! This is ridiculous!", and the assistant says "I don't know why this guy is so mad, it's just a painting. Not the end of the world." The third guy takes the side of the assistant, and tells the painter he's being incredibly rude, that it's not a big deal, and that if he continues to become frustrated at incompetent assistants ruining his paintings that he will have to paint elsewhere because his behavior won't be tolerated.

This is precisely what happens in League of Legends.

You have players ( painters ) who are playing the game and then you have either trolls or people who just flat out don't care playing the game as well ( assistants, or like the support in the example I gave ). As the players are trying to win the game, the trolls/careless people are ruining the match ( splashing paint over the canvas ) and as soon as the players say anything even remotely negative to the them, Riot ( some random person who wasn't even involved ) steps in to tell the players they need to chill out and that they're being too mean and that it's "just a game" and "maybe the troll/careless person is just having a "bad game" ( maybe the guy who splashed paint all over your canvas doesn't have full control of his hands and arms ) and that if they do it again they'll be banned ( forced to paint elsewhere ).

League is the only place where this sort of situation occurs. If I were to right now go to some art class at a university and splash paint on someone's painting, no one and I do mean NO ONE would berate the student whose artwork I ruined if they got angry and shouted at me. They would not turn to the student and say "Dude, it's just a painting, RELAX." But for some reason, if I were to right now log into League, play a match and have a teammate put forth next to no effort and waste 15-20 minutes of my time, if I even type one angry remark towards that player, that same troll can report my account and get me muted/suspended/permanently banned while Riot makes over 9000 excuses for the person who ruined the match ( "they're just having a bad game", "everyone misses a skill shot, including you", etc. etc. ). For the record, in my 6 years of playing this game, I have NEVER witnessed someone rage at someone else for only missing ONE skill shot, that NEVER happens and you know it. They get raged at when they go the ENTIRE match missing 100 Dark Bindings and not buying support items, but once again instead of doing something about players like this, you just focus on the person having his experience ruined by a player who is clearly not trying to win and telling them THEY are in the wrong.

In fact, I'm going to do something. I was suspended rather quickly for chat toxicity, so let's try this. I'm going to demonstrate how ridiculous this all is by creating a new account and playing like a complete buffoon. I won't say anything mean at all, but I will miss 90% of my skill shots, I'll lock in support and completely ignore my adc when they ask me to buy wards, if I go top or mid I'll spam ping my jungler whenever I get ganked after being pushed all the way up to the enemy turret with no vision and my Flash on cooldown and I GUARANTEE I will not be suspended or banned because you NEVER do anything about those types of players. I bet instead what's going to happen is you're going to punish the accounts of everyone who types a mean remark at me because that totally makes more sense. Right?

There are two kind of grief Toxicity Trolling

Toxicity is chat abuse. U read it and see the bad behaviour andpunish

Trolling is " more difficult to spot blablabla"

After all those punishments u still dont get that u are not suited for lol neither welcomed to play. Still u wonder why u get punished.

Amazing

So you've had a couple of accounts suspended for poor behavior, and yet you still insist on behaving poorly and acting like you are blameless why? it seems that your problem stems from you having a short temper, which leads to you getting frustrated rather easily and the moment someone does something you don't like you start flaming them.

I get that having players behave or play poorly is annoying and frustrating at times, but that still doesn't give you a valid excuse to start raging at them ("they started it" doesn't work here as only you are responsible for your own behavior and no one elses). It's okay to ask someone respectfully to do something once or twice, but if it's clear that they're not gonna listen then just drop it, move on and focus on your game rather than waste time raging at them. The only thing raging does is force your teammates to deal with another raging knucklehead, which is not fair to them, not to mention it also makes it less likely that your team will win that game.

If you must rage then do it at the screen instead of in the chat, as that will allow you to vent your frustrations without compromising your teams chances of success. Otherwise I would highly suggest that you work on controlling your temper and learning how not to snap at the slightest provocation. Remember, if it's not helpful or constructive then don't press Enter.

Another thing, all a report does is flag a game for review, only punishing if the IFS detects a consistent pattern of poor behavior across multiple games (zero-tolerance policy behaviors being the exceptions).

Also, trolls and inters do get banned but because they're getting smarter about how they avoid detection (and because Riot wants to try to avoid punishing innocent players as much as possible) it's harder to catch them in the act compared to simple chat-related offenses. Gameplay related offenses when proven to be on purpose are assigned a 2-week ban as the first punishment. In case you don’t believe me on this point here are a couple examples of gameplay trolls being banned. Yes it’s just a few examples, but it proves that they do get punished.

I get that when people do stupid stuff and say stupid things and piss you off, its frustrating. We've all been there. But you have to take some agency: YOU can't control what other people say, you can only control what YOU say. If someone says something stupid, don't say anything, literally nothing. You don't have to come to their lane and gank or whatever just play on as you normally would. If your support is not buying wards, its fine to say "hey we need more vision Janna", but if they bitch, don't bitch back. In this way, Riot can't punish you because you've done nothing wrong.

I sort of skimmed through your painting analogy, suffice it to say that if we equate Faker to Leonardo DaVinci painting the Mona Lisa (as in, pro level) then the rest of us plebs are painting for our high school art class. The stakes are there (our grade) but they're low. If Doofus McGee dumps green paint on your painting, you don't punch him in the face or dump paint on his painting. You get mad sure, but you report him to your art teacher and explain the situation. You remain calm and report him to the authorities, spitting back their own garbage is only going to get you in trouble too.

I find playing with friends helps on this front, as I can bitch to them on Discord or League Voice and say nothing in-game. You can't get reported for something you never type in chat.
