Why isn't there an option to permanently disable chat?

As you can probably tell from my name, something like this would really help me. Sometimes no matter what I do or no matter how hard I try not to be toxic people can just do really really dumb shit and you say something in the heat of the moment no matter what. So why isn't there just an option to disable the chat?

Since you all seem to hate the idea of disabling the chat permanently more then you hate child abusers. What about an option to just disable it for the upcoming game in the LoL client. Just in the settings tab, and when you're in game you can't enable the chat again. So when you're done with the game you can just enable it again, but you won't be able to be toxic if someone does some dumb shit.

I think the reason there isn't a permanent chat removal option is because they expect you to learn and mature from your mistakes. Its like players who play the same mistakes every game and wonder why they don't rank up. They aren't learning from their mistakes.

Because disabling chat would hurt more than it'd help. For starters, communication is a big part of League, and having the ability to effectively remove that communication, with no indication of it whatsoever to your teammates, is an easy way to kill team coordination.

Second, you can disable chat, but that doesn't stop you from potentially resorting to trolling to show your disdain your teammates in those "heat-of-the-moment" situations. Riot has previously tested what amounted to a permanent chat restriction (moreover, indefinitely scaling chat restrictions), and players under longer-duration chat restrictions resorted to trolling and intentionally feeding.

Third, self-moderation like that (applying personal chat restrictions/disabling chat) requires conscious knowledge of ones own toxicity, which is not something that many toxic players have. And since such a feature would hinge its effectiveness on that conscious awareness, the feature would almost certainly see use by only a margin of the people who would actually need it.

Fourth, Riot is not going to give you the easy way out. You are expected to shape up and reform to fit the behavioral standards of the community - if you can't reform, that's a you problem. You are either going out of your way not to reform, or just aren't putting in an honest effort. And it's not Riot's place to fix your problems for you, either - you have to do it yourself. If you know you're toxic, you have to fix that. Not Riot. Not anybody else.

Just you.

Riot should Indeed have a option under their setting to disable AllChat. Even we have every bit of control of turning it off and on. Doesn't make sense to have it...

Keep in the mind Adults have little patience so that's why we are so toxic.

Look a little bit back in the threads there were a few methods to "disable" your chat. Sadly it's not a built in function in LoL, but there are workarounds.

I agree. It's so stupid.

Either let me disable chat or make it so I can't mute anyone.

Really stupid I have to wait until I'm in game to mute some toxic idiot in the pre-game lobby.
