We're all just really upset about ways players are being punished
at the end of the day, losing LP after a ranked game (nearly an hour long commitment of a fun match with 9 of your fellow peers) because of unforeseen circumstances is just obviously unfair. Putting aside our feelings towards the "trolls" and "afkers" out there, it's critical that we speak out about the fact that s##t happens. S##T HAPPENS!
Whether it's a power outage, complications with connection, emergency events, or even the hot cup noodles that you spilled all over your lap during your death timer, Riot's team seems to not acknowledge that perfect games don't always happen. Not even half of the time. Hell, I even have some sympathy for the players who put it on themselves. I don't want to blame the guy that isn't having fun from all the frustrating, unenjoyable moments that a match can create. That is even if he extrapolates this frustration into quitting or entering profanities into the chat log. League of Legends is generally not a forgiving game. For every time things go awry in the duration of a match, there are at most 10 players who feel dissatisfied that an unexpected circumstance had swayed the game in a team's favor. This happens far too often.
With the way that the game is played, dodging queues and losing games unfairly is inevitable. You can't completely change the negativity and toxicity from the community of this game, but you can change how players are affected by it. For every angry post that goes in the forums about this, there is a statement being made about how bans, LP losses, and regulations are not correctly compensating for uncoordinated behavior. You should be careful not to punish those who are dedicated and contributive to you. Just something that everyone should think about.
