"ggez"

Would be great to see a page taken from overwatch's book and have the system change "ggez" to funny little anecdotes.

Not like it makes me big mad to see it but it does get an eyeroll pretty often.

I do report "ggez" unless it's clearly in a funny context. It's just disrespectful, If your enemy was there in person would you walk up to them and say "haha this was easy you suck we totally destroyed you"?

forced censorship is never a good idea; it should be an option in the filter settings

I sometimes report it. On the otherhand, the "ggez losers" type comments - definitely reporting.

When people say ggez, ez etc it doesn't bother be at all.. Last I knew, riot considered it toxic so I just report w/e says it..

Original Sin6/21/2019, 11:42:32 PM3 votes

i say it every game bc people like you get so mad lmao

nelogis6/21/2019, 12:48:54 PM2 votes

People would change to

"gg e-z" "ggezzz" "gee gee eezy" "literally uninstall the game lmao you have no future in this game you hardstuck Iron 4 #@#@# literally sitting in this elo for 400 games LUL, you're an insult to humanity and to your family don't act like you don't know it yourself you sad little #@#@# stick to one trickking Annie maybe then you will achieve something in your life that doesn't end in total failure" "gg eeasey"

If people want to rub something in your face they will find a way so censoring ggez wont do anything.

Honestly? Why not. "ggez" is pretty bland as an insult, and is rather redundant considering how much kids love to type it down. Reading an actual funny and clever comment, even if automated, surely would be more entertaining than reading yet another ggez

Knowing this community, if it was changed into something "funny" people would know a player said "gg easy" and report them anyways.

I swear people get insulted over the dumbest things.

Certain communities used to punish people simply for calling someone a noob, nub, newb, newbie, or any variation thereof.

Could you imagine risking chat restriction or a 2 week suspension simply for using that phrase in game?

And where would the censorship stop if this were to become a thing?

I'm seeing less "ggez" and more things like "better jg wins", "better bot wins", "better top wins", "better mid wins".

Do those have to be reported and possibly censored as well?

And if so then players will simply find new ways to taunt one another and get under peoples' skin. It's stupid.

I'm in no way advocating toxicity. But "ggez" is such a harmless phrase. Something like this will simply devolve into anything said in chat becoming a reportable offense as well as having things randomly censored on the basis of shielding players from hurtful words.

Players already have the option to shield themselves from that. It's called muting and there's also a functioning censor that players can freely toggle on and off. The form of automated protection suggested in the original post is absolutely unnecessary.

Much better suggestion that other asking for it to be on the auto punishment list. I wouldnt mind that.

I mean...that's banter. I can see it being annoying if someone starts spamming the shit out of it...but I'm not the one to get upset over once or twice in a 20-something minute game + post lobby.

I wonder how many reports I've gotten after making a crazy ass outplay, living on like <50 hp, and saying "ez" as I recall and change my shorts...

Lemexis6/21/2019, 10:15:43 PM1 votes

Now I want to know what exactly it is that Overwatch does.

And yeah, it also just get me to eyeroll. What's funny is that it's generally the 2/9 Yasuo that was carried by his team that will say "ez noobs". Maybe in spite of all their stupidity, they can still somehow understand how bad they are and they feel the need to compensate in this way.

At this point reporting should be removed like seriously THIS is a question? If this offends you go lock yourself in padded room you're nuts. You are doomed you cannot handle human society just accept the fate you have brought on yourself.
