The Conversation About 20 Minute Ban Timers
Hi. Okay, so I have been playing League since 2012. I have always played purely for fun. I like the way the game works. I'd like to cut to the chase, please think nothing of it: in having a ban, I can understand allotting a 20 minute timer. There are a lot of people who play League, and 20 minutes will really reduce any potential for toxicity. But if someone's got to use the bathroom or needs to quickly do something and ends up missing the queue, there really is no reason to apply the same 20 minute ban they just waited 20 minutes for. That's 40 minutes of good time to play one 40 minute game. Do the math, that's an hour and twenty minutes, 1:20 spent on a moderate game of League. I'm someone who likes to play for fun, and my WiFi likes to go out. I don't plan on upgrading my WiFi because I can't really afford it, but I like the game. Why should I, or anyone have to wait 40 minutes because they had to handle an unexpected responsibility and missed the queue? After 6 years of being loyal, spending my money when things were different on this game and doing my best to be a positive influence in the League of Legends community, I don't believe for a second that I deserve to wait 40 minutes to play a game and I sure don't understand why this issue hasn't been addressed more in depth yet. Riot, you're supposed to be about the game AND the player, to make the experience incredible, that's why your team is big. With these bans, you truly look more like an uptight parent who acts like they deserve praise for their deeds from the kids they punish because they were having trouble handling stress. The only reason this post is this long is because I've waited 6 years, six, thinking the craziness of this judgement would be responded to accordingly, like most judgements by Riot are, relatively speaking, but I was wrong. Please, reduce the second timer, for the sake of making the entire community a more trusted and desirable place to be.
I appreciate all that you have done thus far.
