do you like to give up early? MUST WATCH THIS! (its just 4min long)

found this video randomly. it has 400k views which is a good number but it should have way more.

this is a video literally made for all the ppl who like to say "ff15" after the enemys got first blood. this game took place in diamond 1 - master area. this is the area where ppl tend to know what they are doing and falling behind usually means game over. its not like bronze silver gold (and often enough plat) where ppl are 20/0 and have no idea how to win the game, get cocky go solo and start to die and die and die and die some more.

dont give up so easily.

just my personal opinion: i try to be realistic. when the enemys have 2 of our inhibs down, 30 kills lead, all drakes and its just 18min into the game AND we got an afk... yeah i'd surrender. i think giving up every game and "never surrender" are both wrong. make it a decent mix. BUT KEEP PLAYING!

I fuckin hate hate hate hate hate this never give up bullshit. I fuckin hate that every team I get feeds and never want to surrender. Just because you made that comeback one time doesn't mean a single fuckin thing. If the scoreline is something like 3-15 by 18 minutes, fuckin surrender. I don't give two fucks about that game you had last week where you came back from zero towers and 3 inhibs down. I'm not gonna frustrate myself for a 0.05% chance of winning. I rather start a new game and try to focus on NOT fucking up that badly in the first place if I'm the one feeding.

Even if a game is still winnable, there comes a point where the effort and tilt it takes for you to earn that win outweighs the satisfaction you'll get from actually winning and it will not only ruin this win for you, but possibly the entire day depending on how susceptible to tilt you are.

Sunk cost fallacy is a very common problem that is often mistaken as optimism. Knowing when to cut your losses and start over from scratch is a valuable skill to have, you know.

I was expecting it to be a silver match. I was surprised that he was promoted to Masters after the win.

I remember a one for all game where my team was VayneVayneVayneVayneVayne and we played vs NasusNasusNasusNasusNasus. The enemy team pushed all the way to the nexus and destroyed the nexus turrents and 2 or 3 inhibs, but we somehow outscaled them in the lategame and shredded through their tankiness.

Glad to see an example of a ranked game where the comeback happens, even with a gold disadvantage.

I'm even more impressed that he was playing Garen.

Of course the game is winnable. You are playing garen - which means you auto-win every melee matchup toplane if the other guy doesn't outplay you. At least in the early game. Why? Oh... you only have built in warmogs via passive, 70% dmg reduction and merc treads via w, and a built in black cleaver via your e. Oh... and you get true damage and an execute to make urgot jealous onto one enemy. So uh... yeah the game is winnable.

You wanna talk impressive... try outplaying a camp of lane on a champ that needs to snowball early... falls off hard, and your laners are 1/19/1 combined at 20 min, all want to give up, and are flaming each other. Try getting THAT to work out in a win. Snowballing yourself when you're not smurfing and you're 1v2. Deal with 3 fed enemies in teamfights where your team lacks damage or a frontline besides you and your jungler. And getting teammates to buy into not only TRYING when they want to give up... but working TOGETHER with people they've been blaming and insulting all game. But wait... you don't have to imagine it. Because I lived it for you.

*kinda amazing how positive, selfless, and helpful a "toxic" honor 0 player can be if he's not put with people who mindlessly flame him all game and who actually learn from their mistakes instead of repeating them 20x over and over. But eh... what do I know.

that was faker in disguise though, you could tell because someone actually took garen into a diamond 1 promo game.

LOL , this is hella funny , but I would laugh more if they lost after all of that xD

Makoodzaka9/25/2018, 6:48:01 PM1 votes

it's not about winning at that point. the game is not fun and it feels relieving and soothing to see it end well with a good 15 min surrender. those things are so rare too you actually feel a sense of accomplishment for being part of something like that. you lost - move on. this is a zero sum game where there has to be a loser - might as well be you.

on the other hand getting all try-hardy and wasting time of 4 players who just want to do something else but are patiently refraining from leaving the game out of respect is insulting and disrespectful.

Alternativ Ending: They lose hard and are extremly tilted for the rest of the day.

Lets be realistic. This will probably happen if you go into rankeds with this mentality.

Inkling Commando9/26/2018, 10:43:09 AM1 votes

let's say you are playing checkers and are 10 pieces down while the opponent is only out by 2 with a king or you are playing chess and you lost both rooks, your queen, and a bishop while the opponent sacked their rook for a good cause. do you ff in either of those cases? no. do you see competitive players ff in tournaments? no. so why the hell should league be any different? just accept the loss and move on. don't wave the white flag when things are going downhill. that just makes things worse. League is just a game. not fucking WWIII.
