When a player reports you

I've always wondered what does riot do when a player reports you. Do they trust the reporter or do they even check if it's not a troll? I played a game recently and someone reported me of "offensive language". I never said anything offensive. At the end of the game, i got this message that is written bad day blablabla effensive language blablabla... I want to know if riot acctually checks the report to see if its real or not.

So you've received a message along the lines of "Warning - Your recent behavior isn't in line with how most League of Legends players act. You have been recently reported for [insert offense]. We know everyone has bad days, but remember to take it easy and make sure you're being sportsmanlike."

It'll look something like:

Ultimately, if you get this message and you feel like you've been wrongfully reported, you honestly don't have to do anything. The report will be reviewed, and if it turns out that they reported you wrongly, your account won't receive any punishments and their reporting powers will be reduced. The message above is simply a notification that you've been reported, and is NOT an indicator of whether or not you will receive a punishment. Consider it feedback, and the next time you get the message (if there is a next time), if you didn't do anything, there's nothing to worry about!

The message is part of a fast-feedback system to let people know they've been reported. If you know you did nothing wrong, then just ignore it. It's just telling you that you were reported, and doesn't necessarily mean you're anywhere close to a punishment of any sort.

But yes, the system does confirm whether reports are true or not prior to issuing punishments. And beyond that, if somebody is abusing the system with false reports, their reports will eventually be basically ignored by the system anyhow.

Basically (i think, not sure 100%), system detects in how many games were u reported and for what reason. If it was flaming, i guess they analyze chat log and if they find excessive profanity or usage of words like Report and similar they ban you. Getting warning only means that you have been reported in couple of games in a row, but if you know that you didnt break ANY rule, then you dont need to worry.

I don't even remember a case where a player was punished because of false reports from a premade of 4.

So I got reported like 4-7 times at least in two days with a bunch of toxic match-ups, forced roles where I just played very badly, and had to mute everyone to avoid saying a bunch of stuff myself as well as ADC's who refused to play on turret, and in a few games trolls starting at champ selection.

How does Riot Determine "Intentional Feeding" I know I was reported a lot for "Offensive Language" not sure about the feeding, but as a player I have always done really bad when in a forced role with any player who Auto Locks, or has no understanding of what to do vs when I am playing Top / Mid, Jungle if I have decent team players which is rare, but my point last season towards the end and sometimes through-out the season before the new update I hit toxicity spikes like this where games would just go very badly for awhile until getting matched with the type of players it is possible to do better with which would hopefully be fixed with the start of the new season being able to select 2-3 roles a player wants to play and getting matched with one of those.

This is assuming that the perm suspension I got the other day was likely for so many complaints of intentional feeding, and honestly to me there isn't a lot I can do as a player when I get matches in a forced role and a ADC who just wants to push out and feed, lacking any type of understanding of understanding Yes I do bad, given the exception of games where I get decent duo players or friends, but honestly if I am going to be filling a bot role at all its best it be with someone I know who plays similiar.

It could always be another issue, but I would like to know how Riot Determines Intentional Feeding vs playing badly due to obvious reasons.

And this is why I mute everyone because I know if I don't or 99% of the time I wait 15 minutes in and unmute everyone without letting them know I did these are the type of comments I hear and it just makes me angry to have to read such. (No Names) but these are the type of players who like to report me.

Pretty sure you need to be reported in multiple games (not reported multiple times in the same game) before you see that message, so you were probably negative in previous games as well (whether it's true or not only you know).

Actual punishments I imagine they check logs themselves, at least I would hope.

I doubt anyone truly knows what the process is. I also doubt anyone will be told what the process is. Internal mechanics like that are not often revealed to the public by most companies. "Internal communications and processes are not to be disclosed to the public" is the line I've been required to use.

I've read people say they have received something telling them that someone they reported was punished. I've yet to see one of those myself. Many companies will not reveal the outcome of any kind of player report citing privacy policies.

it may not be just your most recent game that you got nailed for...if you get reported regularly the system keeps a log of that and with enough reports snowballing together, Riot will step in and look at your account VERY CLOSELY.

They won't just look at toxicity, but they also check to make sure you're not account sharing, using third party programs as well as other stuff I'm sure.

The system flags you, then Riot takes a peek to see what their monster has unearthed for them to examine.

If you're a treasure of toxicity and bad play (feeding), and continue to do so...that warning becomes something more.

Be a good player and avoid going further into the punishment system.

Following the basic rules and adhering to the summoner's code WILL keep you from being banned.

I hope this helps you.
