Rito cares more about me leaving the game then enforcing their own rules.
Uhh, actually, banning you for AFKing is enforcing the rules. If they used actual hate speech, they're going to get an escalated ban. If not, then they'll get banned if they continue to act that way.
Source: Me. Been toxicity banned before. Not a hate speech ban, but I know people who have had that too. It's almost instant. Like within 15 minutes.
Look, let's get real. I keep quiet nowadays, but I still extremely rarely report anyone for flaming. I do, however, report people for AFKing, intentionally feeding, and when "unskilled player" was still an option, I reported people for that, too.
Do you know what makes AFKing infinitely worse than flaming? You can hit a button to make the AFK come back. I'd rather play a game where I get flamed once in a while than play USSR simulator where all we have a smart pings and preselected phrases because, apparently, someone can't reach the mouse to hit the mute button.
If you see somebody say "..." after you died, why do you give them the chance to flame you? Instantly mute them. Same for "?" and MIA pings, too.
For me, the worst part here is that "they wouldn't surrender". No, not because they wasted your precious time, but because you didn't queue up expecting a 20 minute, or even 30 minute game. You queued up knowing that it might take an hour and had nothing better to do until that hour was over. If not, you shouldn't have queued up. I never surrender games because absolutely everything is winnable.
"They wouldn't /ff" is not reportable and honestly just makes the complaint less valid, so it's better left out. Again, flaming is bad. There's really no need for it, especially hate speech, and just because I don't report for it doesn't mean you shouldn't. Do whatever you want. You know what's more toxic than any other phrase you can type in this game, though? "/ff". Nothing tilts more people and causes more avoidable problems than that.
Report and move on. Either they'll get banned now or they will eventually. The only reason we hear so much about a commitment to banning flamers is because, conparitively, it is so easy to enforce. That is one of the reasons that, in my opinion, the Tribunal was a better system. Even then, nothing is perfect. Back in the day, I got an intentional feeding ban because I sucked. Though, just because it was an accident doesn't mean I wasn't ruining games. I still chose to throw myself in to queues I wasn't ready for and caused problems because of it. Sort of like drunk driving.
Point is, no system is perfect. If it was, AFKers and intentional feeders would be at the top of the ban list.
