If Lyte is Gone, can UNBANNING be considered?

I feel like there should be something that players can do to re-earn their accounts.

This is just a thought, leave your comments below.

Why do people think Lyte leaving means the system is suddenly going to change?

They used to have a system, they tried for a very long time. It doesn't work. So they stopped it and issued permabans. People do have another shot: create another account and don't get it banned.

No. They got permanently banned, they do NOT deserve their accounts back. Ever. If you ruined enough games to get suspended from the game forever, you do not deserve your account- and all its assets by extension- back.

I really don't see the harm in this provided the criteria are set high enough, honestly.

Considering "players have decided you're not welcome in the League community" is how the ban system operates, why isn't "players have decided you've earned another shot" a thing?

We're not talking the real-world legal system, egregious crimes, and worldly possessions being lost here. They're just accounts in a video game that people play for fun. I know people like to continue making analogies to real-world law, but after a point it just starts to sound ridiculous.

I've given my thoughts on this subject before.

Riot (Player Behavior team, Arbiters, whoever) should definitely still have the final say in whether or not someone's allowed back, though. For cases like Tyler1 where Riot gave him the boot personally.

I'm in the crowd to say give them a chance to re-earn their account.

Not only they can't be punished, but have to be a positive influence (neutral isn't good enough) to the community for a year. A bad game here and there is allowed, but like most people out there, a bad game won't get them punished.

I think that it'll help in reducing toxicity in the early stages of LoL and have it be more encouraging to the new comers, as well as helping out with the learning curve. Even if it is just a little (less than 5% according to Riot's old experiment).

Yeah, no. Do you know what "permanent" means?

Personally I feel like even with the current system it takes quite a bit of effort to get yourself permanently banned.

I'd have to say that if you manage to work your way through all the chat restrictions and suspensions without bothering to change, one more chance isn't nearly as likely to have an impact as having to start over from scratch and work your way back up (while still being subjected to RoC).
