The Summoner's Code | League of Legends

Does anyone believe the 'Summoner's Code' should be preached? I believe some rules are applied as it is, but the truth is that some peoples way of 'constructive criticism' is mainly bashing the other summoner. The toxicity within this game is basically a feedback loop. If there could be a system that League of legends could abide by and well enforce, maybe it could be possible to change player behavior. As someone who was toxic before (don't get me wrong, everyone has their moments), there are better ways to shape the players mind. My main point through this is that each of the 9 codes are not practiced enough within the game. (1)From what I see, game to game, is that there is usually someone having a bad game that may not be able to beat the other. As that happens, there's no moral support or any sort of advice given to the player in need of help. (2)Back to the 'constructive criticism' comment, it 80% of the time results in one person saying stop inting, feeding, sucking, etc... (3)Lets be honest, is anything civil in League? There's a quote on the 'Summoner's Code'(in the link) that says,"To disagree, one doesn't have to be disagreeable." -Barry Goldwater. Facilitating civil discussion is another one of those iffy things. Its hardly civil in any scenario. Unless you're playing with those you know. (4)Just enjoy the game. Here's a quick quote from part 4 of the code that says,"Remember, taking a jab at your friend in the middle of the game is a lot different than making a glib remark at a complete stranger. Someone who is unfamiliar with what you consider playful may take your comment as an attack and react unfavorably. Which basically sums that topic up. (5)LEAGUE OF LEGENDS IS A TEAM GAME. (6) Just don't boast. They helped you have a good game, why make it worse for them? (7) If you have issues with someone in the game as if they're flipping shi*, don't egg it on. Try your best to be of service and cheer them up. It's not difficult. (8) Well about this one... We all have to learn the game on our own. I don't see why this is apart of the code. Just don't get mad about others game play I guess. (9)Show good sportsmanship. Say a good ol' fashioned 'GG' to your team or the other team. Just be a decent human being, The game doesn't need the extra negatives.

The Summoners code Was good back in its day, Now with the rise of the new god (LCS), the summoners code has become a Joke. It is laughed at so kids can screw over thier team for thier "big playz" and look for thier own personal "IM the next faker" moment. They will hold themselves to a "challenger tier" skill assessment, thinking they are the next league god player and worse, project that skill expectation onto thier team. They will happily sacrifice teammates for thier own personal greed and self-aggrandizement, boasting and bragging while at the same time going on and on about how "fucking trash" thier team is. (Because repeatedly telling someone who makes a mistake just how completely pathetic they are will TOTALLY MAKE THEM PLAY BETTER!...Said no one ever) This game no longer has any respect is no longer deserving of respect. It has become a place where spoiled children with overinflated egos can come and pretend the whole game revolves around THEM. They dont have teammates, they have witnesses to thier personal glory. And if thier team doesnt perform at the expected skill level (aka the "I think I play at a challenger skill level, so my team should to") then these players will turn around and stretch anything to get thier team banned so that they can find another team to stroke thier ego and carry them to an instant win.

As a veteran player, I used to actually try and uphold the summoners code. But with this new season of spoiled, entitled children who think they are the "best player on league evah" and "everyone else is trash compared to me". These attitudes have made me even go into ranked with an "IDGAF" attitude. Because I know that: If I dont build what player A demands, I am trolling If i die even ONCE, regardless of context, I am Feeding/Inting (according to them) If I mute them after they spend the first 5 minutes of the game raging at me for missing a skillshot, suddenly I am "Reported for refusal to communicate with team" (coming from the player who spends the first 5 minutes spitting the toxic fire) If I dont pick a weak champion that puts my adc on a pedestal and makes the game all about them, aka I just happen to play better than the adc, suddenly I am trolling, KSing, Greifing, etc. and Need to be reported. I can bust my ass to support my team, and still get told how "fucking useless support" I am, but hey, I am not allowed to mute them or its "reported for refusing to communicate"

SO while I do think that the summoners code has a place, that place...at this point...is in the incinerator. Because it has become a joke, laughed at by players who think they are "too good for this trash/dumpster fire team" Repect is gone, and I have lost any respect for ranked as a whole. I used to be a team player, but with each passing season, I have no use for being a team player. It only comes back to bite me in the ass. I can sacrifice myself to save a teammate or to ensure a tower goes down, and get "report support for inting" as thanks. and lets not forget getting called a "Fucking noob feeder" 20x per game.

Summoners code? Burn it. Its a joke.

I believe it's used by people with common sense.

I don't think anyone follows it. Code is meant to be obscured and uncrackable cryptic language so I think if it was changed to rules it would help and people would understand it better.
