People can still hold others hostage/force take roles in champion select

Over and over I've had experiences where I join a draft lobby and get assigned my role just for another player to say "thanks for ADC." or whatever role I was assigned. And there is nothing I can do besides let them take my role and play theirs, or dodge.

I do understand this would be a very difficult behavior for Riot to be able to stop but its just.... very annoying, you know? It's especially annoying that it happens both in normal and ranked games. I do not mind playing every role, and sure, there are some I am not very good at, but I shouldn't have to sit there and let some jerkface take my role by force.

Just ask nicely... for real. If I or someone says "no sorry, you can't have my role." Then just be mature about it and stick to yours.

It is not that hard.
