Noob problems...?

I'm sure that everyone has to start SOMEWHERE but I just feel like I'm starting too late? This is my first time playing a game like this so I feel kind of lost and regular play modes like blind/draft picks intimidate me. I don't want to drag my team down and get flamed for sucking lol, but I can't gain more mastery points and etc. if I just continue to play co-op v.s AI.

NOTE: I don't have any friends IRL to play with me instead ^^'' They're not into this stuff.

Honestly, it is probably better to not have someone smurf with you if completely new. Don't get me wrong, they can take you into a custom match or bots to help teach you, but pvp would be a bad mix with a smurf.

ARAM is usually considered a "for fun" mode so people may be more chill there. Most of the time they will complain about the rng since champs are random. Until you get a few matches in, you may get matched with leveling bots though; so don't get a big head.

For blinds, you should be matching with other newbies. There might be some super fresh smurfs, but just mute them if they start talking smack. You can't learn or get better without actually playing.

Win some, lose some. Learn what you can do better no matter what.

New players start playing League every day, and while you're new you will be matched up with people of similar skill (or very low level accounts created by smurfs, but these will quickly be escalated to play with other smurfs, so you won't see them for long if at all).

Welcome to League of Legends! Thanks for giving the game and community a chance. Consider using the Boards to ask for help or tips if you find yourself getting stuck while learning the game.

Also: Don't be afraid to lose. It's part of learning, and League is a permanent learning experience since it's always changing. Just do your best and try to do better next time!

In addition to the other great pieces of advice I would also like to say that you can find others of your skill level on the discord here --> ( https://discordapp.com/invite/leagueoflegends ) to play with. The experience is much more enjoyable when you make relationships along the way like most things so its always good to have a player to duo with.

hmm well maybe it's just me but mastery of a champion means nothing to me. a 7 mastery bronze zed is still just bronze to me so thats why i dont pay much mind to mastery.

I too started out as a noob who was really bad and constantly getting yelled at by others. But one method that helped me improve very quick was watching a full game of someone playing league on youtube or streams and id recommend watching someone who is informative so you can know what's going on in their head and what they are doing. Another thing that helped me personally a lot is making a lot of normal cast into quick cast. It's similar to how yasuo's q is quick cast by default but your other spells can also be quick casted if you choose to, and this improved my dps and aim a lot. Some other things if you are really new is to watch how to last hit under tower.

Other people already gave you pretty good advice.

I'd also add that being a regular on the Summoner School discord channel really helped me. It's a discord dedicated to educational content and helping people, notably noobs, get better at the game. You can also find partners and mentors there. Here is the link:
