Starting LOL as a new player

I recently started LOL and as you can guess I am not really good at it yet. I am only level 15 and almost every game I play has 1-2 really really good players with like 35+ - 3 - smt as their final stats. It's not only like all my losses feels like it's because there is far superior player in the enemy team, it also feels like every victory is because i just got some diamond player on my team. I feel like I don't really learn much as every late game is just one person going totally ham on the enemy team and if you are on the same team you just follow him/her and try to get assists. I get it that it's fun to totally destroy a noob team if you are good but damn does it suck if you just started the game. Does ranked have the same issue when i start playing it and is there any good tips to get better at the game other than playing it because it doesn't seem to help that much. I have gotten better at lane face but that's about it. I've gotten like S- grade few times but i just tailed some pro.

Lower levels have plenty of players that create accounts just so they can feel powerful against new players. Give it time for the matchmaking to correctly adjust those people out of your pool. The more games you play the less of those people you'll run into (with the exception of the occasional high skill player queuing with his low skill friend).

Some fun streamers/ youtubers to watch when you're just chilling: IMQTPIE (very funny and okay if you want to learn about adc or just see great plays) Challenger (highest level) Foxdrop (not so funny but informative if you want to learn about jg) I think he's diamond or plat idk Pokimane (great midlaner, pretty funny) Think she just made diamond 3 Dong Huap (only on youtube, explains basics of the game) High Gold WingsofDeath (great top laner who knows about wave manipulation, which is slightly advanced for level 15) I think he's high Plat

I would recommend just playing one champion you really like so that you can learn the overall mechanics of the game.

If you're at level 15, I'd suggest mixing in ARAMs in between normal games. It won't teach you some things like jungling or roles, but it's good for familiarization with a variety of champions. You'll also find fewer people raging about being noob-champion.

Rank works like this. based on your performance and winning the game you will climb the ladder at different speeds. They have a way to tell the seasoned players with new accounts from the fresh players. Fastest ranking an account to plat for me was 20 games.

There are slow points where they start with the test game to see where they should put you. win that they put you in games of equal skill. then if you go on a winning streak they will put in games that you are expect to be the strong player. if you win those.... you will jump ranks.

Those games you are expected to be the strong player.. it is a lift.. seriously the team mates you will get are on their way down the rank ladder and have zero understand of that elo. Some people just get lucky and get placed well and then reach their natural elo. some people are tilted and just play bad... and they keep playing... even when they should just take a break.

The Diamond player on your team is on a win streak and he is expected to carry you people. The system is designed to get you close to a 50% winning ratio. if you do better than that you move up till you get 50%. If you do worse they will place you with stronger players on your team trying to get you to that 50%.

Riot doesnt want people to lose every time. This makes people that win many games get grouped with people who lose many games.

But imagine this reality. if 100 games where played.. there are 100 wins and 100 losses. 500 people just won games. Yeah i know it sounds obvious, but for every win there is a loss on the other side.

You'll want to play normal draft, read guides, and have a lot of games with a few champs (your "champion pool" - not just all of the champions you own, but 5 or 6 you enjoy and are good at) under your belt before you go into ranked. It is a lot more intense. The snowball meta is just what seems to happen now as AD items are OP, you'll see it happen in ranked but the games generally end a bit sooner because they're objective oriented whereas blind pick is not nearly as coordinated and normal draft is more casual as well.

Once you get to ranked you will be placed in queue with, generally speaking, people of similar skill after placements, but the placements (10 games) can be pretty brutal because of how competitive it is. You'll want to be prepared. It is more fun than normal once you have an idea of what is expected of you and you start improving.
