Why I don't take reports seriously anymore

So I got reported for harassment after a loss, since I was a support (and it is always their fault in bronze tier), so I performed a little experiment. I spoke in Spanish my next game, and pretended I didn't know English. This sounds like trolling on the surface, but I did what my allies pinged me to do, so no harm was done on my part. I also pinged mias and everything too. In that game, I was mid as Veigar. I give it my all, and suddenly I get yelled at again. This time I didn't save the jungle from a 3v1, despite me not having enough mana to do anything. So I'm getting yelled at, and I just pretend to not know what they are saying. The best part of it was that one of them looked up a vulgar phrase in Spanish to harass me. I used Goggle Translate but I am not repeating it on the boards. Another problem was that everybody on my team was doing dreadful. We all had bad K/D/As, so nobody had room to complain. Eventually we lost, and my team tells the entire post game lobby to report me for harassment. I get notified of the report, saying I need to stop harassing people. So the lesson here is that even if you don't speak someone else's language and they don't understand you, it is considered harassment, and you're in trouble. I don't know what to think anymore.

Thats what people do, they flame and then report you for whatever reason lol. You dont need to worry about that warning tho if you didnt do anything wrong

No, the warning is there because the report system got a lot of reports in. They don't mean anything until the system checks them. If you are innocent, they lose weight on their reports, you get off scott free and you keep playing. If you are guilty, then you get punished accordingly. Just stay positive and yer good bro.

It doesn't really boil down the way you think it does, because the 'warning' that pops up is just an automatic thing to let you know that you were reported. It doesn't mean those reports were correct, or that your account is close to a punishment or anything. The point is more to try to get players to think back on their recent behavior. If you know you've done nothing wrong, then there's nothing to worry about. People are free to report your for anything, but the system will only issue punishments after verifying that the person truly was being a problem.

It would be nice if they would either re-word the notice to make this more clear, or else have the system do a quick sanity check on reports and not trigger the popup off what are likely false reports. That may not be feasible, though, due to volume of games/reports.

The way I see it, if you get reported enough in 2 games to be notified of it, then you are doing something wrong..

I mean, if nobody else in the game knew Spanish, then why were you speaking in Spanish other than to harass them in another language? There is literally ZERO other reason to speak at all if you know that the meaning will not be seen. You would have been better to not speak at all.

edit. sorry i should also note that in something like 6 years (?) I have never been notified of a report, and have seen a few notifications that my reports have resulted in bans/suspensions.

Your concern is that if you are reported, you will be punished. You must do something wrong to be punished. So, you can be reported hundreds of times. If you do nothing wrong, those reports won't matter.

I get the pop up warning now and again. I used to get angry at that. Now, I just laugh at it. I know there is no validity to the report and Riot won't punish me. I don't take much comfort in the fact that someone's future reports will have less impact since I'd rather see them be punished in the way they wanted to have me punished. But Riot doesn't work that way.

So, again, if you didn't do anything wrong, you'll be fine. Don't take false reports seriously. There's no reason to do so.

I got that message after a game where I said nothing at all to my team or the enemy. I didn't even use any emotes lol. My team was extremely toxic to the other team though so they were probably mad and reported all of us
