Update to Previous Inting Post
Hi guys,
I got a 14-day ban for inting in my most recent game, which a fellow league of legends board user SilentGravity was kind enough to convert to youtube since I'm locked out of watching my replays during the ban duration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWgh6QQDgIA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79g0hxleqtg
I was playing this game with noticeable, game affecting lag until around my 6th-7th death, and I just want to discuss my reasons for dying each time in the replay shared above: 1st death - I tried for a 1v1 lvl 1 b/c I had no idea who would win the trade. 2nd death - d/c'd lag. 3rd death - d/c'd lag. 4th death - I jumped onto talon for q+e (which buffered late? b/c I was lagging), but underestimated his ability to oneshot. 5th death - I tried running away, I think it's clearly displayed he went in when I went for cs 6th death - This one was actually really dumb, jumping onto talon when lee was there. I was tilted at this point which is why I did it, this is the only death which I can percieve as kinda inting 7th death - didn't wanna contest "cs" so i thought to farm enemy rators for gold since I knew lee prob wasn't there. Executed b/c I wasn't playing attention + tilt + still lagging. 8th death - I go in for the kill here, and die doing so. 9th death - talon goes in for the oneshot combo, and I thought maybe the tower would kill him which is why after pushing him away I try to fight him back a little bit in melee form 10th death - same thing as 8th death, and I try to disengage from fight too late + a little tilted already. 11th death - oneshot by talon combo. nothing to say here.
The most "toxic" thing I said in chat was "this will prob be a ff15 game lol, I'm lagging really hard" after my 3rd or 4th death.
I talked with Riot Player behavior support about it, to which I will paste our chat logs below:

(09:01:32 PM) Skytate: Hi,
Last night i played a game as jayce and got reported for inting; however, throughout the entire game I was having ping problems which I constantly complained about in chat. It's also really hard to lane against an assassin that got 4 early kills due to my 500 ping that I was playing on for the first 10+ minutes of the game (especially as a squishy jayce), and also I was on 100 ping the remainder of the game. I did indeed go 1/11 that game, but it's really hard to deal with an assassin snowball while playing on 100-500 ping fluctuations.
f you look at a replay, I never "run it down" except for once when I dc'd when walking to lane. The times that I've died are all to Talon, when I walk up too close because my ping wouldn't let me react in time; as someone who played a lot of Talon, I know what I'm supposed to as Jayce; I find it incredibly frustrating that people (and the system) thought that I inted on purpose when I clearly complained about lag problems in this game and previous games before.
Thanks, Skytate (09:01:54 PM) Skytate: Also: I just sent in a ticket with the same question a few hours ago, should I delete that one? (09:03:04 PM) Player Support Bot: Hey! We’re getting a ton of new chats right now. It may take upwards of 15 minutes to get to your chat, but if you sit tight we’ll help you out as soon as we can. If you’re not about that waiting in line lifestyle, you can always submit a ticket instead! (09:03:04 PM) *** Mumbino joined the chat *** (09:03:08 PM) Mumbino: hey wassup man (09:03:11 PM) Skytate: hi! (09:03:37 PM) Skytate: should I copy+paste what i typed in earlier or can you see the chat (09:05:34 PM) Skytate: sorry in advance if I type things twice also, I think I'm lagging a bit on my end (09:05:52 PM) Mumbino: Im reading it now.. but i read hella slow (09:05:55 PM) Mumbino: so gimme one sec (09:06:02 PM) Skytate: ok! (09:13:52 PM) Skytate: please ask if you need any clarifications! My grammar can be a bit off sometimes, since English is my 2nd language (09:14:10 PM) Mumbino: Its ok my grammber is about kindergarden level (09:14:21 PM) Mumbino: and I finally finished reading your subject and I know it sucks to have ping likethat (09:14:47 PM) Skytate: yeah, it wasn't a pleasant experience and I know one teammate (the vayne) was really frustrated too about it (09:14:58 PM) Skytate: since talon snowballed off the initial lag, then dove bot and killed her twice (09:15:43 PM) Mumbino: I get that.. but I'll have to do some more investigating on this case, so I'll have to convert this (09:15:53 PM) Mumbino: to a ticket so I can give the proper amount of time (09:16:25 PM) Skytate: ok, thank you for taking the time to do so! I already submitted a ticket with the same topic, so should I keep this one? (09:17:15 PM) Skytate: I was told about the live chat feature which is why I submitted this new ticket with the same subject matter (09:17:53 PM) Mumbino: I'll go ahead and grab your other ticket, but I do have to create a new one from this live chat (09:18:05 PM) Mumbino: It will take a few minutes after I close this chat for that link to start working, sometimes five minutes or more, so thanks for your patience!
Here's the link to your new ticket: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/requests/37099959 (09:18:48 PM) Skytate: ok thank you! Sorry to bother but one last question - what is the expected time frame for a response? (09:19:39 PM) Mumbino: I'll be sure to respond to your ticket today at the latest (09:20:38 PM) Skytate: Alright! Once again thanks for everything so far and if you need something please let me know. Also, I know some people were curious about this question on the forums as well, so would you mind if I post our full conversation so others can learn what they can do if they are facing this issue as well? (09:21:01 PM) Skytate: Once corporate hq gives a verdict (09:21:23 PM) Mumbino: Ye thats fine, I do want to mention though that I'm not guranteeing a suspension lift (09:21:33 PM) Mumbino: but rather I'll be doing a in-depth investigation on your case (09:21:44 PM) Mumbino: to come up with a validated discussion (09:22:07 PM) Skytate: I fully understand, I just wanted to see if it was possible and if not I want to let others know what they can do in a similar situation (09:22:22 PM) Mumbino: Sounds great.. I'll go ahead and close this chat out (09:22:30 PM) Mumbino: and Looking forward to continuing this over on the ticket (09:22:42 PM) Skytate: Yep! Enjoy the rest of your day :) (09:24:12 PM) Mumbino: You as well (09:24:21 PM) Mumbino: you can hit options > close whenver your erady (09:24:58 PM) Skytate: ok, bye for now !
MUMBINO October 14th 2018, 10:24:13 pm Hey Skytate,
Mumbino here from Player Support.
After a in-depth investigation on your game, I feel that the suspension was actually placed fairly. I cannot share details regarding how we investigate cases like this.
Your account received a 2-week suspension because you were intentionally feeding/griefing in your recent game. Intentionally Feeding/Griefing creates a negative experience for those 9 other players in the game. They are trying to have a fair, competitive, and sportsmanlike game. But by intentionally feeding/griefing takes that away from them and we don't want to encourage that.
Just to let you know, when receiving a 2-week suspension; it is our way of giving the player a final warning. If you receive another intentional feeding suspension the account will be auto-escalated to a perma ban. But if you want to avoid that, you can heal from your penalty by playing to your best ability with a neutral-positive mind set.
Again, I know it sucks to have your account get suspended. In the future, I would recommend just playing out the game to the best of your ability to protect yourself from getting penalized like this.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

SKYTATE October 14th 2018, 10:33:42 pm Aww, that sucks to hear. I have one last question though - if lagging is a punishable offence (b/c it was responsible for a major part of my deaths) is it better off to just d/c even though you say to keep playing out the game at the best of my ability? I hope that you don't mind that my stance still remains that I did not have the intent to feed b/c the majority of my deaths were due to getting oneshot by talon after the initial snowball (trying for a jayce melee q+e to hit him away) & proxying minions under his tower when he was gone to avoid contesting for cs in lane. [also I don't know if you're allowed to share if you reviewed just that one game or other games as well in question]
Once again thank you for taking the time to investigate and answering my questions!
MUMBINO October 15th 2018, 1:14:07 am I know this really sucks man, and I don't blame you for feeling this way. Sadly though I cannot share details regarding what I looked for to prove that this was more than just a "bad game" because players try to use that info to circumvent the system.
I'm very sorry man, Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

SKYTATE October 15th 2018, 6:41:59 am Yeah, I find it frustrating that the evidence pointed to this conclusion b/c I feel as though previous games (norms) in which I had abysmal scorelines (hello ezreal) are being held against me although in norms I have a tendency to tilt easily [I don't really flame anyone though on my off games in norms, there's a reason I don't play ADC in ranked anymore] and try to push the limits of my champion during the times I'm not lagging, but I don't have the intention to ruin other people's gameplay experiences when doing so... at this point if I just want to test and push the limits of a champ and/or am lagging hard once I enter Summoner's Rift, all I really want to know is if I should just d/c the match or practice champions directly in ranked to prevent even the chance of an autodetect feature in normal games for playing badly [something I heard on reddit if your scoreline goes 0/8+ in a 15 minute game with all deaths near midlane turrets - my jayce game] either due to tilt/sucking at the champ/role [I can't play ezreal at all, and suck at jungling if you're taking the ezreal and graves games in which I have questionable scorelines] or just lag in general, which I was dealing with for my Jayce games against Sion (who was nice enough to give me 2 return kills and test out the inting sion strat on reddit that saved my KDA) and Talon respectively (who unfortunately, although apologizing and in all chat expressing his understanding of my situation, had tremendous pleasure in killing me over and over again). Again, I think it kinda sucks if my tilt streak was being held against me since I had bad games due to tilt and being bad at the champ and role which implies that they are punishable, and the final jayce game in which I was lagging, was the nail in the coffin.
If the sample size was not just that one game and indeed you looked at my tilt-streak and recent KDAs, I would have a better understanding of this decision b/c I can tend to get tilted quite easily in norms, but I don't exactly flame anyone in particular during these times. I might complain, but I don't take it out on my teammates and saying "you suck" and things like that & most of the time joke about how bad I am or how I'm playing on tilt which is why I find the verdict surprising (I don't jungle anymore or play ADC in ranked b/c I know that I'd get absolutely bodied if I do, and isn't norms the place where you practice new champs or cool down off ranked tilt?]. If the sample size was indeed just the jayce game in question then that's even more curious since I was indeed dead the first 3 times due to d/cing + aggressive positioning [1st death] then executed at raptors 4th time [b/c of lag, not paying attention and my thoughts that It'd be better to get cs from enemy jg camps when he most likely isn't there in terms of pathing than contesting more cs in lane and asking to get oneshot again] then picking subsequent bad fights with talon b/c I walked up too close for cs due to being unable to react to him and by that point he was fed enough and mobile enough to just oneshot me in a full rotation no matter what I did.
SKYTATE October 15th 2018, 6:45:24 am Again, thank you for taking the time to read and respond... I know that dealing with these situations isn't exactly the brightest part of your day since I have a friend who also works in customer service and understand at times it's not the best place to work, but I really do want to wrap my head around this decision, explain what happened during each death in that jayce game, and talk about my previous games with really bad KDAs if you did examine those as well.
MUMBINO October 15th 2018, 5:21:40 pm I totally get why you feel that way, but like I mentioned before I cannot discuss our details about how we handle Intentional feeding suspensions or what we look at to determine intent.
I understand this match was a one-off, but it only takes one game of inting/griefing to get your account escalated to a 2-week suspension because its behavior that we do not tolerate at all, and a chat restriction does not stop players from continuing the behavior.
Again, I'm really sorry about this. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

SKYTATE October 15th 2018, 6:29:22 pm Can I have your opinion on dc'ing if you're something like 0/3 or 0/4 in lane due to being worse than the lane opponent/camped by enemy jg/lagging? Understanding that the enemy will snowball and lead to you having a worse KDA frightens me immensely when I imagine playing after this 2 week duration is over as it'll trigger the system all over again (I do have reason to believe an automated system picked this up; too consistent with multiple descriptions of Riot's autoban system on both reddit and forums) and escalate it to a permaban; I'd rather risk leave buster instead of a permaban if this is the case.
Thanks for your time and response!
MUMBINO October 15th 2018, 11:19:50 pm If you are still experiencing DC's during your games, I can send this ticket over to our Tech team so they can trouble shoot your internet and help prevent this from happening again.
Again, I know this really sucks and I'm sorry this happened. Let me know if you have any other questions unrelated to your suspension.

SKYTATE October 16th 2018, 12:55:13 am Hi, I already sent a ticket to tech and am waiting for my suspension to be over before I think I'll be able to do all the steps they described. I'm not sure if you can answer this or not, but in my last post I asked if I should just d/c if I'm lagging/being hard camped/just a lot worse than the enemy and afraid that my KDA will suffer and trigger another autodetection - b/c people are saying on reddit that this is the way to go and it's much better to digest a leaver buster punishment than even potentially take the risk of a permaban b/c of a really bad KDA.
Once again, thanks for reading and answering!
MUMBINO October 16th 2018, 2:13:30 am I mean, I would highly recommend not AFK'ing either because our leaverbuster system does escalate if you continue to afk in your games. The best thing to do is try and get that network issue fixed so you so something like this doesn't happen again in the future.
Again, I'm sorry this happened. Please feel free to write back if you got any more questions or concerns you would like to discuss.
Mumbino Riot Games Player Support Vayne Mayne "Purge with Silver."
I want to hear the opinions of fellow players b/c I kind of have a hard time seeing how I intentionally fed and deserved a ban for this one game since riot support can't give any answers b/c against company policy (talking w/ u guys might give me more insight which i would be extremely grateful for)... thank you everyone in advance for looking at this and your time!
[posting this new thread b/c the old one got bumped down due to time decay i think]
