Next Season - remove the KDA count from the match

There are three kinds of player (for this discussion).

  1. Those who aim to improve, and research how.
  2. Those who aim to improve and do not research how.
  3. Those who do not aim to improve.

I'd love to have a discussion about #2. The first group ends up to be a matter of luck and talent. The third group can be dealt with in 4 simple, non-invasive ways.

The problem with the second group is there isn't really a feedback system unless you go looking for it, and since this entire group believe they're doing the right thing, they likely won't go looking for it. Whenever I attempt to suggest changes for this game, I like to go back to the fundamentals and see what would comport with the games general philosophy. In this example, League was born to emulate sports because it was a sport. Which got me thinking - name a professional sport where you can see, during the course of the game, who scored points? You know that points were scored, but not who did it. And while you can find them, it's not clearly apparent to anyone in game.

I mention this because KDA is a known form of toxicity. The amount of times - and I think they do this knowingly - that my amount of kills, as a tank support, was thrown in my face to prove I was bad is too high to count. I think people are aware of the concept of the K in KDA not favoring tanks, but they just want to attack.

To me, the game highlights stats that promote toxicity too often, and rarely show the stats that benefit the team. What if the KDA was replaced with Objectives/Wards/Healing? What if the KDA score was visible, rather than the raw numbers? What if the game just made it harder to know who "stole the kill" and who died too much. Do you think the game would be different? I don't honestly know, but neither does anyone else. We should be exploring, as we approach the next season, ways to passive deter toxicity. If a troll can't see numbers, they have less tools at their disposal. And that fits with Leagues overall concept of a sport, and should therefore fit with the future of League going forward.

Using KDA as a form of toxicity is the same as some people abuse chat to be toxic. Why should the majority of the player base be denied this game info just because a minority cannot use it properly. Why should we be denied the ability to see at a glance who is doing well on the team and which one on the enemy team we need to focus first? Just because a small portion of people cannot use the info responsibly doesn't mean Rito should deny it for everyone else.

Half joking, but how will I be able to tell who to honor at end game without KDA?

i think that just taking out kda would just make them blame you for another thing like you having less farm than adc (even tho you are jg) or things like that. and just counting ward/objectives/healing or anything else would be useless

because i have seen many time 1 tank jg give a lead to 1 ally that ally get super fed and carries because of the lead but if we counted a score for it. the tank technically only helped for a single kill but the snowball happenned because of it and the ally might have fed off hard without it. 1 assisst can change a game but what matter is how it was used and not the amount and so we cant put value on it for all to see :/ so even tho taking kda off will not stop jerks from being jerks, kda is still mostly useless to see, just help to evaluate who is fed in the enemy team or yours. (at first i was thinking you wanted riot to take off k/da skin xD)

No no no no no. I want to know who the feeders on my team are. I need to be aware of all the shit garbage trash I may be playing with.
