THE MUTE BUTTON NOT WORKING?! :(

Sometimes this community is as toxic as you allow it to be. I don't mind muting someone and cutting the chances of good team communication in half. If you aren't saying something that's contributing to the well being of the game or the team, chances are I'm muting you. And the good thing about it is, if I run into you next game, you are already muted and automatically placed on my block list until I get over it or see that you've changed. I'll read your pings and the rest of the teams chat. Granted, some have thicker skin than others and nobody deserves to be harassed but lets stop for a second and realize that sometimes online games are an extension of real life. Just like real life some of us try to surround ourselves with positive people and some don't. Depending on the circumstances, you cannot always escape negativity or negative people. It's better to learn to L.I.G. (Let It Go) . There is no way of assuring everyone in life is going to be nice or happy at all times; same goes for all extensions of life. It's almost better to assume the opposite. With that being said, you never know what people have going on in their life or why they play this game or why they say the things they do. I've noticed some people who I think play this game to escape real life for a moment. Which is fine but when you make it a point to spread hatred or negativity because you are having a bad day or aren't where you want to be in life, it becomes a problem. Change starts with you, not with you complaining to Riot about every single thing. MUTE, REPORT, MOVE ON.

This game attracts people from all walks of life, creed, sexuality, gender apparently, religion, race, etc. All the things that make mankind different and unique. No, we cant expect everyone to get along but when you are given some tools to make an experience better, I don't understand why some people don't utilize them. It's to the point where I get it and I will simply mute and report and move on to the next game. The best thing you can do when against toxicity is NOT TO ENGAGE WITH IT OR IN IT. When someone see's 2 people arguing, they cant tell who the idiot is. Even in defense, whether you started the war or not, the minute you pick up arms, you are in the fight. The same goes for social media, school, work, etc. If you don't like negativity or don't know how to filter it without it affecting your well being, try your best to stay away, ignore or "manage" it. The same thing happens on social media when an argument breaks out and nobody thinks to just block the person. I've come to the conclusion that people love to argue and/or be toxic. Everyone's fuse is different but everyone has a breaking point. It's one thing to say "people just shouldn't be toxic" and it's another to actually expect it; borderline insane to expect it. Unless your ideal gaming community is where all toxic players are ip banned off the bat and if found playing on another account are banned too, then you might as well cut the entire community in half lol

MUTE, REPORT, MOVE ON.

There are people of all different age ranges here which I see plays a part in toxicity and/or just gameplay. With different stages of brain development and/or life experience comes the knowledge of sociology and psychology when dealing with people. The older people expect some sort of respect and have some sort of arrogance when butting heads with someone that may be younger than them, which I understand being almost 30. What I dont understand is what makes you think that because your parents had sex sooner than someone else's parents, you have any right to act a certain way. If anything you should know better and be more mature and should be sharing on ways to mature in behavior or spread knowledge to someone lacking the skills to filter toxicity. You'd be surprised how many people would apply what you've said in real life. If anything you look idiotic compared to the child, who's buffoonery is expected. Why age matters on a video game I have no idea, but it does. You cant expect to play a VIDEO GAME with a certain age group. It just doesn't happen that way. I've been watching Rated-R movies and shows since a child. Same applies to video games. And tbh, some of the younger kids here behave better than the older players. It seems the older you get the less common sense you have Lol. These people feel some type of entitlement that is simply an illusion. Their inferiority in their life becomes apparent when they log on a game and start talking shit to kids or other adults. MUTE, REPORT, MOVE ON.

Sure I've had bad days and I was once permabanned from League a long time ago. I wouldn't call myself "reformed". At the time I knew I lost money by not being able to play on that account and thats all it took for me. Sometimes I felt justified and sometimes I dont feel the stuff I got reported for was "toxic" by definition. I even went the ol' route of rewording my toxicity in a form of non sugar coated truths Lol. Then I simply grew up and realized the danger of me transferring that type of energy around. It just isnt good for anyone including myself. I used to play a lot of sports all the way into adulthood. We saved the shit talk for the other team. Fighting and arguing as a team does NOTHING for the overall morale nor does it help anyone do better. There's a difference between a kick in the butt and downright bullying. No, I wasnt hyper-toxic or toxic beyond belief but just because the game wasnt going my way or someone didnt press the right combination of keys on their keyboard it didnt give me the right to treat people a certain way. You have to understand that you win some, you lose some. Its called maturing. I like to see the posts on the boards where people are supporting players who may have a weak resolve or a sensitivity that others do not. I think in todays world, sarcasm and toxicity are becoming the norm, to the point where its practically disrespectful. Which depending on your age was never tolerated. This generation and some before that don't really understand what that means. Depending on where you are from, everything is competitive nowadays which breeds toxicity. You have to be able to accept the bad with the good. You have to be able to understand some people have an inflated ego and are comfortable acting like a child and holding themselves back internally, spiritually, and externally when it manifests in their gameplay or by them forever being stuck in their elo. You personally will never succeed in this game, acting like everyone else or engaging in toxicity. Toxicity is micro-ing. Winning games and becoming a better person is macro-ing Lol Stop focusing so much on the negativity and find those friends or people out there for positive games and teaching and learning about the game. They are out there. My advise to you if you are having problems with toxic people is to MUTE, REPORT & MOVE ON.

If it doesn't work, it's a bug.
