I have never thought of myself as a very negative or toxic person. I've absolutely no issues with getting punished for negativity in any other competitive game, or life for that matter, aside from League. I don't really understand why my normal behavior is not up to the standards of this game. Despite this I've taken the advice of Riot support at every turn and I have been making my best effort at being a more positive player in game. I have found the community very toxic and this has been difficult to do but I have given it my best shot. I am not very good and I have a lot of bad games but I do not feel that gives people the right to flame, insult and curse at me. However no matter what awful things they throw at me I attempt to just brush it off and stay positive throughout the game. I felt like I have been doing a pretty good job at this but I was extremely saddened to find that my actions were only rewarded with a very harsh permanent ban :(

I think and hope this might be a mistaken ban as my last game went VERY very badly - I preferred not to play the Bot role and I asked to switch with someone, and our mid laner accepted my offer. However he still picked a mid champ but went bot with it anyway. I was then counterpicked and camped in mid lane and had a very bad game going 0-11. My team then ganged up on me, insulted me, trolled me and presumably reported me for intentional feeding, but I did NOT int I simply had a very hard matchup (kassadin vs talon) along with a shaco camping me and I just could not even get one assist in there. I think the system might have automatically flagged me as an intentional feeder by my score or maybe flagged me for not respecting draft roles even though the switch was agreed upon in pre-game chat. I am hoping this is the reason for my ban and if not I am very confused because my chat logs are very positive even though I was being harassed in all of them.

I realize that I messed up here. Our malz started blatantly lying about how I stole mid from him and forced him to go bot, which wasn't true at all. He agreed to give it up. I will admit I felt compelled to defend myself in chat - I have heard stories before of people who were banned for not respecting draft roles, and I was afraid of being reported and the system seeing that I went mid even though I was assigned bot. I also had the nagging fear that he was a troll trying to bait me into a report by promising a role to me and then playing dumb. This was my first mistake - I should have ignored my fear and not engaged in that topic at all. I let him bait me into this conversation, which he then changed the topic of to my poor score. At this point I got a little carried away since I was already talking to him absent mindedly - I started trying to politely explain my bad score and why I was unable to stop continually dying in my lane, which I definitely shouldn't have done. I thought that if I explained that I wasn't trying to blame anyone and that arguing over my score wouldn't change things, that we could focus on winning as a team. I see now that I was wrong in thinking this, and that I should have just said nothing and taken the abuse silently, which would have been best. A lot of this chat was also lighthearted banter in all chat, which I thought would help lighten the mood.

I'm completely at a loss for explaining these two games. I literally cannot find a single bad thing I said in these games. I do not have the slightest clue why I would be punished for these two games. I am being RELENTLESSLY flamed in all of these games and I tried to keep my cool, remain positive and not engage with trolls instead trying to de-escalate and be friendly. It's really difficult and frustrating to sit there and take all this abuse and I try to just mute whenever I see the conversation becoming unproductive. Is it unusual that I constantly get placed with all of these vulgar flamers and trolls? I mean it's like every other game that I get INCESSANTLY cussed out for playing badly. Was I placed in a special queue for negative players or something?

And honestly, do people read these chat logs and think to themselves "this is the type of person that we NEVER want playing this game again?" Really? Am I actually such a negative plague on the community for this?

Where are you Tantram? Why don't you roast me for being such a horrible person too?

the punishment system is just crazy. so many people are getting banned because they get upset when they are getting trolled. its not right.

well... thats the punishement system WE THE COMMUNITY asked for. if someone "ban baits" or triggers you, thats your bad. WE as the community wanted that.

It seems like everyone who agreed with the ban has been downvoted a bunch, but everyone who disagreed with it got many upvotes. Time for me to join the former group.

While this chat log doesn’t have specific instances of the worst behavior, it sure is pretty consistently irritating, condescending, and negative. To use your words, you “messed up” not just once but often. Each of your earlier punishments was Riot trying to make you stop doing that, but every time, you came back just as toxic as before. Eventually, they perma-banned you for evidently refusing to do more than barely, and only usually, following the rules.

this doesn't seems right at all in the logs you just defended yourself, the worst you did was calling someone toxic and saying you would report them and for that, you got permabanned?? you were tempbanned before, right? if so, i guess once you get tempbanned you better just not chat at all, or else this happens else, something is very wrong with the system.. you kept it civil and still got punished hard

Inb4 the typical "you type too much" comment. But seriously, you need to be much more careful after recently getting off of a 14-day ban. Any small amount of toxicity or negative behavior can result in a permanent ban, no questions asked. The justification is that your previous ban should be warning enough for you, but we all know that is pretty bullshit.

When a system that automatically detects trigger words is just thrown in place all of the sudden, people aren't going to have the proper amount of time to adjust their vocabulary and mentality in order to avoid automated punishment. Who knows? Maybe that's what riot was going for when introducing the IFS, maybe it was an unintentional product of the shift to a fully-automated punishment system Either way, it seems lazy and dishonest to me.

Saying that you're muting or reporting someone is flagged as negative by the IFS.

Accusing people of trolling or being toxic is also flagged as negative by the IFS.

If you've already gone through the other tiers of punishment, then continually doing things that are flagged as negative will earn a perma.

When you're being relentlessly flamed, mute them.

I don't understand your thought process here. You were up for a perma, which means you were told on three separate occasions over quite a few games that your chat is bad.

"This guy is flaming me. Guess I'll go out of my way to not click the button that makes them unable to do that anymore, and instead spend more effort in the chat box doing exactly what I've been sanctioned for three different times in the past, even though I've been told that doing it one more time will lead to my account getting lost!"

"I lost my account, wtf!"

Break it down for me man, what did you expect? Was the two chat restrictions and 2 week ban just not enough? Were the messages and chatlogs from your game not explicit enough? Help me out.

I have held off on responding and just been observing this thread. It would appear to me that yours is a case where you have a major attitude problem and you think you're always right and must have the last word. This type of negative, combative, and obnoxious attitude not only is prevalent in your chat logs from the three games you were given, but it shows in many of your replies here.

You refuse to accept that, even as you admit you were warned this type of thing is not okay, you fucked up. You refuse to accept that you were given chances to improve your behavior, and you did not. You tried to be just as negative as possible without getting caught again for it. And it bit you in the butt.

Your attempt at adding a sarcastic smiley to everything is not going to work. You were doing everything possible to cause a negative environment for your teammates - be it by directly harassing them, calling for reports on them, insulting them, goading and antagonizing them, being passive aggressive towards them, or being sarcastic towards them. Your behavior in the logs is obviously with bad intent, especially after your posts on this thread.

Your 14 day ban appears to have ended no more than a week ago (3-4 days to be exact). You were literally just warned about your behavior. Yet you tried to toe the line again. You showed no intent of reforming whatsoever. And you appear as well to have been doing everything possible to not help your team during games you were frustrated with them. Hint: That's called griefing - and it's prohibited.

I certainly hope your ban is not removed. You are the exact type of person that the escalating punishment system is designed to catch - someone with no intent of being a decent community and team player.

For the record, I only posted on this thread as OP asked me specifically to come to this thread and post in a reply to a comment I made on another thread.

As a believer in the 1st amendment, (even though legally not allowed here) I am of the opinion you can say whatever the hell you want... if you are genuienly bothered by what a player has to say just mute them. Funny thing to note, posts like these where people point out the solution and get down voted is comical. Saying toxic things rarely deserves a punishment, now you can argue that the words are affecting how you play via tilt but at the end of the day it's up to you how you want to handle the situation.

Buuuut in short, you clearly didn't deserve a ban by any standard.
