A New Way To Improve The Banning System

Hello, Im a fellow member of League of Legends for the past 2 to 3 years. I used to be a low silver and wanted to get better. Now the only way i got better was to do research. I watched videos, followed streams, got up early, played at peak times. I finished last season at gold 4 and in the process was banned twice for "unsportsmanlike conduct" due to my behavior. The only way to get better is to invest time in this game, but we as humans are not to get emotional? We aren't allowed to retaliate against other people who drive us to the edge?

I recently have been permanently banned. What did i learn from my last 2 bans? Not to cuss, no name calling and keep trying or at least act like it. I have spent hundreds of dollars on this account. I don't regret it whatsoever. But if i got banned because of my chat log.. Can you think of a better way to punish me than banning me permanently?

How about a mute? 12 week mute? lifetime mute?

Like seriously, your only solution to an offense is a permanent ban after two, two week warnings. If i cant talk i cant flame. Im just thinking of how to reduce this issue.

Sincerely, Mr. Coon.

There already are chat restrictions and there also used to be permanent chat restrict. You got warned twice with 2 2 week bans (must have been bad if it went straight to 2 weeks) and then a perma. idk if they still perma restrict but that wouldnt be any better unless youre just trying to play aram for the rest of your league career lmao. like perma mute would just be a loss loss situation for u and whoever you play with. also in pretty much all games every perma ban is because of toxicity so hmm. This game isnt gonna change to satisfy your self entitlement. If a company stops you from playing for a month for you to think and change your toxicity and you don't, they dont want you now since you cant follow simple rules.[slayer-jinx-catface] bye!

They have already tried this and it didn't work. Not sure why people like to bring it up but if it didn't work the last time why would it magically work this time around? You can be emotional, just don't bring that emotion into the game. The point is to play the game, but talk/write a novel in chat. Chat should be use to help further you and your team to victory. If it doesn't at least in my opinion it doesn't need to be said/written in chat! Play the game. If someone is acting up just mute them and continue to play the game till its over and report them if its that bad. Berating them in chat does nothing to help solve the problem and in most cases just makes everything worse. Especially to the other people on your team. So now not only do they have to deal with that person, but you as well.

I entirely disagree with your post. Because I for one am not worried about being suspended nor permabanned. It isn't an issue for the players who do follow The Summoner's Code, which we all agreed to follow in section 5. Code of Conduct. It's really just the toxic players who should worry about unable handle their anger and cannot control their actions while playing this game. We're all responsible for our own actions while using Riot's client. The Summoner's Code is there for you to read if you do care about your account and your gaming experience on League of Legends. If players who read the Term of Use before downloading it, they can decide if the game is meant for them. The thing is, this game isn't meant for players who look to harass, insult, threat, and ruin other player's experience. This game is meant for players who are not only here to improve, but also here to enjoy the competitive entertainment. There are plenty of functions and options for players to work with to avoid being toxic or ruining someone else's game.

If you don't like what you agreed to, there are plenty of other moba games out there to be toxic in. Just League of Legends isn't.

Just read The Summoner's Code and then decide if this game is for you before you download it.

Should the banning system include a temporary mute

Where is the "It already exists" option?

I've made a similar post a few years ago, and here's what I was told. (not verbatim because the post was deleted)

"Muting players just gives them an excuse to act negatively instead of just talking negatively. If you remove the players' ability to talk, they're more likely to troll/afk/int than just flame, which is potentially worse than them just feeding"

Essentially, removing the ability to talk in-game doesn't fix the issue of them being toxic. They'll still be toxic. The ban system is meant to be a punishment for the most toxic of players, revoking their privileges to play the game and forcing them to start over and be a better human being, or they'll lose that account again and be forced to repeat again and again and again until they reform or stop playing altogether. Riot's taken a very clear stance on toxicity and don't want it in their games.

They don't expect you to be emotionless they expect you to treat people with respect and create a pleasant environment for your fellow summoners to play in not be toxic and create a horrible environment for others and yourself.

In all the time I have played and no matter how much flaming I have received I have never felt the need to to be toxic to others in the chat, it's hard for sure especially when people really get going but it's just not worth responding to because flamers/toxic people will never respond well to you even talking to them let alone retaliating.
