Are VPN's illegal to use with league of legends? I was perma banned for third party software and i'm trying to figure out what it was. I don't have anything weird on my computer beyond like a firewall a VPN and addblocker. I had a couple good games on xerath recently and someone threatened to report in one but like they weren't even that good the other team was just inting into me.

Xerath alone raises a red flag. Try writing into support if you're legit. Xerath scripters are really common, so I'm gonna link it to that right now. The fact that you brought that up alone makes it suspicious, or you did your homework before posting.
I can almost guarantee that you were not banned for using a VPN
I have several different VPN software variants on my computer, from Cisco AnyConnect to OpenVPN client, you were not banned for a VPN
Check your match history for any unfamiliar matches. If you see something that raises a flag, your account may have been compromised.
