The best way to avoid suspension is to mute everyone at the beginning of the match

I am often flamed by people, and sometimes the entire team. Recently, when the entire team started flaming me, I responded as such. Then I get suspended for 15 days. Does that seem right? I guess I'll just mute everyone at the beginning of the match from now on. This IS a team game after all. Doesn't need work at all.

I prefer to just mute people as they reveal themselves as toxic. No need to mute everyone, unless the first sentence sets you off.

Pretend your kid is sitting next to you. That ought to make you hesitate before you respond to flame with "gud manner".

I tend to mute as needed, too, but for people who trigger easily, tend to interpret neutral comments as aggressive, or have trouble recognizing when they are about to go on tilt, preemptively muting everyone can be a good way to avoid trouble in the first place.

I'm almost 30 years old. Seriously, riot, you're barking up the wrong tree.

First of all, See why are they flaming. Some people are stupid and flame over about things they don't see and some people are right but jerks when communicating. example, "He didn't actually see what happened in last team fight" and just says don't feed noob" . Sometimes you're playing against smurfes !! you can't do anything about that. some people give advice inappropriately no one listen to some call you f#^$$% even if he was right. I would recommend first see if he's right (even if he was a jerk). Don't get into arguments during the game. Do it after the game if you don't want to. just look at the score board see what went right and wrong compare your build with oppo team in same lane. Some people don't admit that they're wrong just look into the matter. I used to call people noobs everyone was falming everyone so i started to record games and see how I did. I learned A LOT , I did A LOT of mistakes that people were telling me about but too arrogant to admit them . and you don't have to respond to everyone at the beginning of the game. Just say the truth if they were right and if they were wrong just ignore and play the game they'll eventually shut up. didn't happen ----> Mute: Watch and learn!

Everything you need to communicate can be done with pings. I play a lot in the evening and between like 3pm and midnight est you have to mute everyone. I have noticed when I play in the mornings there is a lot less toxicity.

True. It just feels dumb that we have to resort to that. Most people don't say quite "enough" to get reported for verbal harassment, even though they're on that borderline edge. They can make a few jabs and get away with it, essentially. I dislike it, I don't usually rail on someone unless they start nagging me over my mistakes despite them having made more. It's hard not to react after a certain point. I usually mute them and if it's bad enough, I will refuse to co-operate with them. I would do the same in any other situation, IRL as well. Why would I work with someone who's an asshole? Team game or not, I'll work with people who are co-operative, and if that's against the rules then... well I think I would be done with League. It's forced me into a position where I have to either A. gather up enough energy to "act" like someone else and put emoticons everywhere and typing gj/ty/etc even though it wastes time and I prefer to just focus on winning. B. mute everyone and focus on winning or C. Resort to very sarcastic and probably non-flagged insults towards those who are being unreasonable. Otherwise I'll just... lose my sanity. The amount of things people say without realizing that they wouldn't like those things being said to them is... ridiculous.

i love how all the answers are "mute" them. how come the people we have to mute aren't getting banned?

Muting people helps, but the ultimate point is to not rage in the game*. You can still rage with everyone muted, and you can also not rage in chat at all with no mutes.

Consider it training wheels to get you started. Get used to going an entire game without typing anything to anyone, then try to ween into not raging in normal, unmuted games. More challenging but ultimately lasts longer.

If people start arguing which is every game I just mute everyone, and turn off my sound and likely lose the game I will explain.

. Turning off my sound impacts hearing the placement of enemy wards, but I have to do this because of players pings getting annoying and "Invalid" used to troll me sometimes

. Muting Everyone in a game because of arguing "I assume I am always right unless a valid argument can be presented in game that proves otherwise" causes me not to hear anyone so if you are not doing exactly what you need to be doing in a group fight yep more kills / deaths to the enemy.

^ The reason for this you can ask in chat, and players can't tell you.

. Why are you taking Blitzcrank for a support with a hard engage comp? (uhhh i dunno.) . Why are you taking (Shaco Jungle) in hard engage (I dunno?)

People don't know anything yet they argue.

You honestly don't even need to chat at all.

. As a jungler (ONLY PING) "STRICTLY" when you are ganking my lane "WITHIN 3 SECONDS" max to make the play, if you don't the enemy will get ahead because this is how my friends and I play and it works for us perfectly "THE ONLY EXCEPTION" is if you are on "TEAM SPEAK".

For example I had a jungler who actually helped the first time and did something in the game early, but then they didn't follow this rule which I was playing one of those champions that is not so easy to play and has to be followed "Strictly" with decent trades, they pinged didn't follow this rule and as a result the enemy got ahead extra CS + kill, and took the lead after that it was extremely down hill and having to mute everyone because of this player.

. Only ping where an "Exact enemy is at /going to.

I NEVER rage.. that's the point. I rarely EVER get mad at this game, even if I say "harsh" words sometimes. I grew up with a bad mouth. I say bad words all the time that don't mean anything. It's so GODSAMKJDNSAMDNSG annoying that i get a 15 day suspension because a group of prepubescent kids thought it would be cool if they bait me into getting suspended.
