I can see why people get BANNED

I'm fairly new to the game, my account is about 1-2 months old, and the higher elo I climb the more sensitive and toxic players seem to get. It's upsetting that kids make it anywhere. I'm currently gold 2, with platinum elo i've been told and people are nothing more than sensitive to the words "nerd, fk, wtf, shut up". My friend recently got banned and he isn't coming back, in person, he is the sweetest guy on earth who legitimately wouldn't even tell a dear friend to "be quiet".

I'm here because players have reported me or said "i'm reporting you" for offensive conduct as of me saying "shut up" *when they ping you 234523 times, but you know what you're doing. Or the classic, WTF which is a result as in what happened, or how did that happen kind of moments. I've been told that i'm toxic beyond belief for 0 cuss words, and nothing derogative, I just have different view points of the game. Looking at the graphs, i'm already better than 70% of the community, and i feel allowed to have different viewpoints.

So my question is, why are people such big babies and want to get people banned so badly? Are those phrases above REALLY offensive? If yes, then what is the line? Do i have to talk players like i'm talking to Dora the explorer? Seriously what is the line for "bad behavior". I'm 200$ deep into the game, spend a lot of hours, and I simply CANNOT figure out what DOESN'T trigger people. I feel it's best to just turn my chat off everygame?

Does Riot truly look at the offences and believe that these words are toxic? Can't the player who falsely reported these be banned or muted themselves? this is a joke.

I'd really like to see the reform card for this friend of yours :3

I've found that obscenities in general are pretty acceptable. "fk" after a missed skillshot or smite is usually fine. "fk u" on the other hand, is not.

I think if you're less hostile to other players (not telling them to shut up or calling them nerds), you'll have a better time with the instant feedback system.

Contrary to popular belief, the entire banning process is automated. Riot does not look at bans/reports unless there is a Support Ticket. Unfortunately, the majority of the replies will also be automated with generic responses.

I would suggest using "/mute all" at the start of the game. Trying to suggest things to players in game isn't effective nor received well. Trying to communicate a play that requires higher level of experience should not be communicated. It is best to assume that you are alone in the game and that no one will help you. Only make risky plays when you are sure you can secure the kill without dying.

Another suggestion is that don't consider Gold as a "higher tier." Gold is actually just average players.

Calling a player a "nerd" is derogative and accomplishes nothing. It's also a bit rich from someone posting here.

Telling a player to "shut up" is only going to incite them more. When somebody spams, I just tell them stop spamming pings, or if they're spamming in chat, I mute them.

Basically, cuss all your teammates to death as much as you want irl, but be kind in game. It'll also help you win more games, as they'll maintain some hope of winning rather than want to shrivel up and die.
