LET'S STOP PERMABANS AND REVERT BANNED ACCOUNTS!

Look RIOT toxicity exists for a reason so people can get there anger out. Millions of games do this and they run JUST FINE. I myself have worked a few weeks as a dishwasher so I can buy rp and get orbs to get skins, I know that accounts are your property but our money isn't. I've spent so much on this game and I still got permabanned for nothing, some people just feel like banning you even if you did nothing wrong and you Riot Gamds still ban those players (the victims). I enjoy in skins and for me they are one of the reason I play this game. LISTEN NOW RIOT, HERE'S A SOLUTION, instead of permabans, punish players by suspending them on a 6 month suspension, repeat that 6 month suspension if the players get toxic enough again after those 6 months have passed, I think that this should work really well, imagine players such as me that play this game everyday for longer periods of time and instead of legit keeping the account and money to yourself, you suspend them for 6 MONTHS, THAT'S HALF A YEAR, that's such a big punishment for players and they would question their mistakes like I did on 2 accounts Riot banned on wich I've spent hundreds of euros on skins and limited prestige kda akali for what I'm still sorrowing for. Players would keep the accounts, mastery points on champs and valuable skins while not being able to play for half a year and make normal warning punishments like you did over the years, 9 games chat restriction, 14day suspension and instead of perma ban you punish for 6 month suspension. You can't force fix a broken community and I feel its r%%%%%ed that you PERMA BAN and keep our money. You should either return are money/ and or SKINS. I feel that we should let league players SAY AS THEY FEEL! It makes no sense to restrict it so I would like to start our own RIOT on the forums. Everyone who agrees post " STOP THE BAN" Post one everyday till we flood hell out of the forums and notice players DO NOT LIKE the system. Doing this will A GRAB there attention and B help see that there player base DOES NOT WANT this ban system in place. We could also start a petition. Ps. If you do see a "STOP THE BAN" post go ahead and reply/ upvote and more. The perma Ban system is r%%%%%ed and should not be allowed in a game. Because THEY STEAL OUR MONEY from the skins we bought. If you didnt buy anything but were salty ITS STILL STUIPID to get banned. Words are not something players should be banned for. Hacking of course is a reasonable ban of course but just some things take it to far. For example R6 (Rainbow Six) They dont have a report button for other then hacking and look there community is JUST FINE. ITs also a 5v5 game with in game bought items and game bought. I think to fix this PUT PLAYER CHAT RESTRICTIONS ITS LOADS BETTER AND DOES STOP SALTYNESS INSTEAD OF BANNING. I have actually noticed myself THAT I DO NOT get salty because of chat restrictions I find that I cant really be salty so it works. Just DO THAT instead of banning. Anyways Ill be posting my "STOP THE BAN" post in a few hours! Lets get this RIOT going.

P.S. Riot, players, please notice this and do something, this is an awesome solution and I want my skins baack😰😭😩, I spent too much money on 1350+ skins, I had the best skin for every champ I play and I desperately need my account back, riot please.

Community, assemble.

Look RIOT toxicity exists for a reason so people can get there anger out.

There are a blue billion other ways to get your anger out. Breathing exercises, yelling, punching a pillow, stress balls, fidget spinners, etc. - people make stress relief tools/toys for a reason.

Toxicity - while a stress relief method - is also completely detrimental, both to the game and to the community. It ruins communication, team cohesion, and of course there are also some variable harmful effects depending on a person's sensibilities. There's no excuse to rely on toxicity when so many other stress relief methods exist - the majority of which are several times more beneficial than toxicity.

Millions of games do this and they run JUST FINE.

Just because other games permit toxicity doesn't mean that Riot should. If they don't want toxicity in their game, that's their prerogative. If you want to play a game where toxicity is allowed, then do so.

...I know that accounts are your property but our money isn't.

Your money ceases being your property when you offer it to Riot in exchange for Riot points.

...some people just feel like banning you...

People can't ban other players. They can report other players, which triggers the IFS to review their behavior, but if the IFS doesn't find any instances of rules being broken, no punishment is issued. So if you got banned, doubtless you broke the rules.

LISTEN NOW RIOT, HERE'S A SOLUTION, instead of permabans, punish players by suspending them on a 6 month suspension, repeat that 6 month suspension if the players get toxic enough again after those 6 months have passed, I think that this should work really well...

First of all; going from a 14-day ban to a 6-month ban is quite an excessive jump.

Beyond that, 6 months is also a long time to be forced away from League. At that point, they'd likely just create an alt/smurf account and play on that 'til their suspension ends, and there's no guarantee they'd reform during that time.

And, on top of that, there has to be a stopping point. A point where Riot puts their foot down and says "alright, it's obvious you refuse to play by the rules, so you're no longer allowed to play the game period." Repeating a 6-month ban - which already has enough problems even as a one-off thing - would not effectively teach players a lesson.

Riot is not going to give players the same punishment over and over and over ad nauseum; if someone isn't willing to reform and play by the rules, they shouldn't be playing League period. Hence, Riot employing permanent bans for players who refuse to learn.

...that's such a big punishment for players and they would question their mistakes...

Or, they'd question why Riot wouldn't just permanently ban them if they're going to stick the player with such an overlong suspension.

You can't force fix a broken community and I feel its (omitted) that you PERMA BAN and keep our money.

If you don't like the fact that your transactions with Riot are non-refundable, then just don't buy stuff from them. You're told when you accept the ToU, when you purchase a pre-paid Riot Point card, and when you purchase Riot Points in-client, that the transaction is non-refundable.

And if you want to keep your skins and other such content? Play by the rules you agreed to.

You should either return are money/ and or SKINS.

Again: You agreed that your transactions with Riot Games would be non-refundable. Once you give Riot your money and they give you your Riot Points, that's it, your money becomes their money.

And as for your skins; if you break the rules enough to warrant a permanent ban, your limited license to use those skins becomes void. If you wanted to keep the skins, you'd have followed the rules instead of getting your account permanently banned.

Everyone who agrees post " STOP THE BAN" Post one everyday till we flood hell out of the forums and notice players DO NOT LIKE the system.

Spamming is against the Boards Universal Rules. If you spam the boards with pointless, repetitive posts, you can wind up permanently banned here as well.

Because THEY STEAL OUR MONEY from the skins we bought.

It's not stealing if you give them money in a voluntary transaction. McDonalds doesn't steal your money when you buy a burger. Wal*Mart doesn't steal your money when you buy groceries. Riot games doesn't steal your money when you pay for Riot points.

For example R6 (Rainbow Six)...

This is not Rainbow Six. It's League of Legends. Different game, different standards, different rules.

Clearly, it does not work if you've failed to reform after the chat restrictions. The fact that you've been permanently banned is an indicator enough that the chat restrictions didn't work to get you reforming.

Anyways Ill be posting my "STOP THE BAN" post in a few hours!

Again; spam the boards, and you'll be banned here too.

Look RIOT toxicity exists for a reason so people can get there anger out. Millions of games do this and they run JUST FINE.

Riot Games is not like those millions of other games. Regardless of profits, community perception, or success rate, ultimately it is a developer's choice on whether or not they punish negative behavior. A developer doesn't have to conform to what the rest of the pack is doing.

LISTEN NOW RIOT, HERE'S A SOLUTION, instead of permabans, punish players by suspending them on a 6 month suspension, repeat that 6 month suspension if the players get toxic enough again after those 6 months have passed

As nice as it would be to have my permabanned account back, there needs to be real consequences to discourage people from being toxic. A repeating 6 month ban isn't going to cut it, most players will just get punished and think "Oh well, 6 months, time to play on my alt account" and repeat the process half a year later.

By the point of a 14-day ban, most players have already shown they are repeat offenders regardless of circumstance and I don't feel a 6-month ban would do much to dissuade that behavior. Maybe you could make the case that we should add a 6-month ban to the current punishment ladder, although I'm not sure if the community would support that. I'm not even sure how I feel about that.

You can't force fix a broken community and I feel its r%%%%%ed that you PERMA BAN and keep our money. You should either return are money/ and or SKINS.

All of us have been warned that we are not entitled to refunds. Riot is insanely transparent with that information and calling that "r%%%%%ed" isn't going to help your case.

Also, a question I still haven't heard a satisfactory answer to: Why does Riot have to change their rules to fit the (minute) toxic playerbase? Most players can behave themselves, the large majority of them never go above a 10 game chat restriction. Why can't those toxic few behave themselves and change for the better?

After my permaban I was angry at Riot and myself. I thought the system was stupid and that my money was being taken for no reason. However, I took a look back at my chat logs and realized I was being an asshole first and if not, I was just as bad as the people I was arguing with. Flame doesn't solve anything, being a jerk online doesn't help anyone. People should start to behave better and treat others with respect.

You willingly gave them your money, then violated the rules you agreed to. It is nobody's fault but your own.

FOR JUSTICE8/30/2019, 7:33:12 PM3 votes

they tried unbanning accounts just a few months back actually.

not enough people actually stood unbanned.

I think there are some discrepancies in the report system such as 3-4 man premades reporting someone and it causing an almost insta punishment. I have seen people instigate many fights in this game, and now that I know where the mute button is I won't have to read this crap anymore but it sucks that people intentionally say things to get a response and when you do respond they report you and everyone gets a punishment. Some people are overly sensitive and I think that if the policy of "mute them and continue playing" is the solution riot gives that maybe there should not be a double standard there that allows someone to keep typing to you to be toxic and then they report you at the end. I had a bad day today and it got the best of me. I don't play often but I got a 14 day suspension today for using the R word in response to being called a "R" Monkey for not doing exactly what 2 of my teammates told me. I play my own way, not the way that others want me to play and what I do and how I play doesn't break the rules and my win rate is actually fairly decent as a jungler. roughly 56-58%. What I did or said was wrong but the context of it all was definitely instigated after I just told my team to quit typing and just play. but that didn't happen. and when I responded and the game ended I got a 14 day. I got a chat mute a few months ago and as far as I know that's the only thing I've ever gotten, and that was because of a 4 man premade that was basically instigating another fight. I think some people know the rules better than others and know what to say and what not to say, now that I understand which words are punishable. and I think that's what happened to me the first time. I'm kind of disappointed to learn that my next punishment would be a perma ban because seeing how sensitive some people are especially when they are the ones who start flaming early in a game for menial reasons makes me believe that something will be taken out of context since the report system uses no context and will end up getting me perma'd. I came to this section to see if there was an appeal forum but from what I see there is not. I think if you see how much the people were flaming me and one of the other people on my team before I even responded with anything negative would show that I at least tried. I didn't know where the mute button was, I checked settings and disconnected from voice chat but i didn't see it on the TAB menu which a few helpful people pointed out in my thread. If I just can't say anything at all besides dragon/baron/group then so be it. but I'm not used to people being so sensitive, and again, especially so when they are the ones flaming to begin with. I think people who sit there and flame and flame should not even be allowed to report someone. especially when they are asking the enemy team to report you for inting when you legitimately just had a bad game and the enemy team got ahead because one or two other people got fed from your laners or from rotating better.

sorry for wall of text.

tl;dr i think there should be appeal based on entire chat logs or at least give some leniency especially based on how much you get honored. I get honored almost every game for being positive and not trying to ff just because me or a teammate dies 2-3 times before 15 minutes.

I agree with Reverting certain bans. Toxic Chat should be given the opportunity to pay a fine and restore the account.

Riot makes money, and person who did the bad stuff will be more happy than they would for not having to start a new account and level it up to 30, and the chat restriction can remain in place until they get better at not being a fuck.

plus if they fuck up, they can get banned and pay the fine again.

This would be reasonable and make a lot of money for Riot.

Why would you spend real world money on a game that is free to play? So that your champion's pixels will be green instead of blue? I dunno about that.

Demon King Maou8/30/2019, 8:49:06 PM1 votes

No, you do not [Own] Your account. Riot is merely leashing you a contract to use said account and items on it. When riot revokes the contract they have [Every] Right to say "Take a hike" or in most player cases, Make a new account.

Telephone Booth8/30/2019, 10:09:49 PM1 votes

Its supposed to be a deterrent. If you got all your shit back, no one would care about getting punished.
