How Do You Handle Really Bad Players With Attitudes?

I am by no means the best player but I run into people all the time who are having a bad game and then flame the rest of the team. Sometimes its because someone says something to them first but then sometimes it comes out of nowhere. Just had two games that kind of pushed me to make this post because in both games me and the support do really well early on but something else happens and loses our lead then I get flamed for picking "a useless champ" even though we hard stomped lane. Whatever the flamer says doesnt really matter but how do you handle that kind of person? In a way that calms them down, gets them to understand the map state, and then change the way they are currently playing? Most players seem overly confident in their decisions and even when you ask or point out in a nice way of what happened, they get mad and defensive and sometimes even just double down on what they did wrong.

Most people will say to mute and that's all you can do, is that really the only "solution"? I feel like muting may help ME not tilt from them but at the same time its not necessarily what they're saying that's tilting, its the same choices being made leading to bad outcomes that they just keep doing. It's like damned if i say something, damned if i don't. Any advice? Doesn't even have to be directed at me, just in general what ways do you guys cope with that kind of behavior that helps you win?

Tell them to stop typing and play the game.

If they don't, mute them and report them. A bad attitude is absolutely reportable.

The best thing, next to muting/ignoring him, is to stand as support to his target before the target is dragged into typing contest as well. Stopping chain reaction can help, but sometimes whole team starts arguing and its gg.

When ppl flame other team mates am i telling them to shut up and play there game and its just a game and game means fun... If they flame me am i sending them love words back. i am taking screenshot of the chat and reproting them with ticket after the game ends :)

I ask myself logically speaking whether their anger is full of reason or full of shit.

If it's full of reason, then I apologize and own up to my own mistake. Taking a mental note of what I did wrong and try not to do it again.

If it's full of shit, I'll sometimes try to let them know that their point of view was wrong (like how that mage didn't follow up in that gank cos the mage was oom) or just flat out ignore them. If they kept going on about more shit, I just end up laughing at them and writing them off for their stupidity.

Ignore them, play as usual. If they claim to be "not trying" or giving up or whatever, then just expect less from them and dont ever follow them as if theyre making good decisions. If they get caught out in a bad position, dont even try to help em. Report them after and move on.

Just turn off chat, refusing to communicate isn't reportable anymore

I usually mute them but sometimes im trying to piss them even more so they can get punished ( of course not breaking the rules while doing it ) Once a Draven was toxic to Sona and sona was super friendly so i decided to defend her. Asking draven silly questions like if they have snow in his country etc... He got so mad at one point that he stood at spawn and spammed k.s in all chat for like a minute. He havent played from a month maybe he got perma ban lol

Here's how I look at it. Over the years I've dealt with ALOT of different kinds of negativity, whether it's for playing an unconventional pick or "Not having a High KDA". The key to dealing with Toxicity is to utilize the Mute function & to basically have "Thick Skin".** Now what I mean here by having "Thick Skin" is to not let what these players say sweat you.** You are not obligated to respond to anything they have to say, especially if all it is them being Negative Nanci's.

If someone decides "Alright, this guys gettin' it!" and starts being a turd, Hit that mute button & forget they even said anything. Focus on what you're doing & stick to it. You'll eventually improve/win more games. Afterwards, report them & move on to your next match (don't even give these guys a second of your time). Don't let what these guys say bother/distract you from enjoying the game & bettering yourself on the rift. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
