Is there anything that can be done about this?

I recently started playing League of Legends again after several months away from the game. I finally decided that I would try playing ranked again, because I heard about the new ranked system. My very first ranked game, first placement game, in over a season, my team had 3 afk's. Now, since we obviously lost the game, I got stuck in Iron I... Is there anything I can do about this? If I contact Riot support, will they be able to reset my placements? This is ridiculous that the game even counted in the first place, and I don't even want to finish my placements now...

This will not be an answer you like, but unfortunately regardless if there are AFK's/ragequitters or other factors in your game that results in a loss no placement will be reset by Support.

The system will automatically determine if the game is eligible for a Remake, and outside that scenario no "manual" interference happens.

As the visible rank you're seeing is the "guaranteed rank" you'll receive, you can still press on forward. You're not "stuck" at Iron 1 however.

During your first 10 matches you are issued a provisional rank. This is your guaranteed minimum rank. It can only move up with wins. It doesn't move down with losses.

One extra loss may hurt your starting position, but it will have no impact on where you end up over the course of a season.
