Dank Memes can often tread the line of toxic chat.

I recently read a post on someone being banned for typing "k.y.s" in chat and then clarifying it stood for "keep yourself safe".

I thought this would be a good time to bring up the fact that many league players often meme about things that might be on the edge of joking and dangerous. The reason why we have chat filters is to prevent targeted harassment against individuals in a competitive game, where people tend to get very salty, but we also need to recognize that in chat restricting we remove the ability of individuals to have fun and make jokes about those same people without potentially being restricted or banned.

Basically, we all need to realize that there is no acceptable middle ground for tolerable chat. In one way we revoke the rights of those who make jokes and are having fun, and on the other we have targeted harassment on an individual which may influence their actions.

Similarly, another recent post was complaining about feeders, and the top comment detailed the support smite singed dilemma as the cause. These things are also impossible to find a middle ground for, at least in the purpose of drawing a line. On one hand we have playing off meta getting you banned, and on the other we have people who intentionally troll and feed who don't get punished.

To sum up, these scenarios are not black and white. There may in fact be a significant number of shades of grey in between, and asking riot to draw a definitive line would be like asking them to build a rocket from toothpicks. We need to realize that sometimes shit happens and, realistically, each report should be covered in a case by case basis.
