Certain in-game features aren't used for their primary function, but to BM

Riot should really take a second look at pings. They're becoming more of a BM tool than an information-giving tool, and assisting toxic players in flaming while staying off the "reportable offense" radar.

The alert pings, especially "missing(?)", is definitely used more as a tool for toxic players to flame their teammates than it is for its functional purpose. That being said, they should have more of a spam limit and/or we should have the option to mute pings from individual players.

Informational pings, such as "[champion name] is alive" and summoner cooldown timers are becoming popular for toxic players as well. I see no need for these types of pings to be able to be used more than once in a short time period. After the first time in about 10 seconds, it usually just fills the chat with useless information.

I trust Riot could come up with some better solutions if they really tried. I'm simply asking that they take a look. Please upvote/comment with ideas and maybe we can make a good change.

Honestly, as long as that sharp ping isn't threatening to make my eardrums bleed, or the icon isn't obstructing my vision, I don't really care if someone is being a dumb ass with their pings. It's pretty easy to ignore, especially when I know they are simply doing it to be toxic.

I am all for Riot working to limit toxicity, but I don't think it should work against the improvements they have made for making communication more available.

Keeping control over your own attitude is far easier than it is for Riot to design an automatic babysitter for in game communication.

Riot has already stated they will not give players the option to mute pings. Due to a large percentage of players that /mute all every game.

They do have timeout/cd/cap on pings in a certain timeframe so you cannot spam all game non-stop. But maybe they could add a "ping mute" button for people who want to spam ping all their pings as soon as they can all game long.?...

I'll begin: Maybe over the course of each game, a player's pings can permanently become more and more limited as the player is given spam notifications throughout the game.

It is? Maybe 1 in 10 games I'll get someone who spams pings on people. Only 1 that I can remember, so I'm being generous in my estimate. The mid laner told him not to ping him (it was a legitimate ping) so he started spam pinging him. I said I'm pretty sure that's bothering everyone at this point man, not just the mid laner... and he stopped, surprisingly.

So basically, I disagree with the entire premise of your post. Especially the part where you say it is "definitely" used more as a tool for toxic players to flame teammates". That's so not my experience, but I guess it's definite, so I must be wrong.

I usually just turn down the ping volume which helps me not get as tilted but I can't really do anything about the enemy Yasuo that Binds his Mastery 7 emote to his ult key.
