Can I get reported for muting everyone at the start of the game?

My account is in danger of a permaban because of my toxic behavior and I don't want to try my luck. The only solution is to just mute everyone. Can I get reported for it though?

No, I am not judging anyone to be guilty before they even talk, but a friend of mine LITERALLY got permabanned (he was toxic in the past but he stopped after the 14-day) because he was talking with his friend in League because they couldn't get on skype (it was one of the chat logs Riot provided).

I have read the stories where people can say just the tiniest thing and they get reported and I do not wish to try my luck.

Thanks.

In the words of Riot Tantram: "You cannot ever be punished for saying nothing .. unless of course it's for something gameplay related like feeding, afking or cheating. But, you can never be punished for offensive language, hate speech or verbal abuse if you said nothing."

As long as you are communicating with pings, you are still communicating with your team. There is no rule that says you have to talk to your team. It might be a good idea to let the team know in the beginning of the match that you are muting. You don't have to say it in a bad way, but just giving them a head's up, so they will know not to expect verbal replies from you. "Hey guys, I'm really going to be focusing this match, so I'm muting chat. But don't worry, I'll still be pinging! Talk to you all in the post-game."

You CAN get reported for chat related offenses, the reports just won't do anything. You can't get punished for a verbal offense if you didn't type.

This is simply not true. As long as you use chat for its intended purpose, you wont get penalized for anything.

After my last ban I have lost all faith.

Do you think your last ban was unjustly applied?

Why would you get reported for muting people ? They have the mute option to give to people so they dont have to listen to other's unwanted negative bantering.

& Getting reported doesnt guarantee you will get banned - unless its obvious you have said something toxic or bashing other people through chat or etc.

I've never got banned, but I may also consider muting everyone. There are just too many toxic players and I can tilt quite easily, so I want to avoid it... I can still write to the chat, but usually nobody cares if I want to discuss strategy or something like that. I think we can communicate with pings most of the times... (unless people spam pings for no reason) Btw, many people are complaining about the game... I have only one problem: the players.

While Necromancy may be handy (and sometimes needed) in video games, it's not the case for old forum threads. Please avoid using such magic and be mindful of how old threads are before posting.
