Permaban or Perma Mute?

Ill try to be brief with this and won't really go too deep into personal stuff but i recently got permanently banned for ''verball'' toxic behaviour. I don't defend my actions and i do honestly regret my behaviour as i have now realised how valuable my account was to me.

What i want to suggest here is, maybe, before or even instead of a permanent ban is placed on someone who is being ''verbally'' toxic there should be a permanent ingame mute put on the account. I feel like that is a fair and sound punishment for continuous ''verbal'' toxicity. This ofcourse as long as the player isnt also toxic when it comes to strictly gameplay, ( Inting, trolling, etc). I think the permanent ''ban'' should definietly primarily be for people who break the rules when it comes to the gameplay and not ''verbal'' toxicity.

I aknowledge that i might be bias in this case since i ofcourse wish that i could get my account back with a permanent ingame mute on it. This because i know all my my offenses have been for ''verbal'' toxicity and never gameplay related, thats just not who i am. I care about winning and having high quality gameplay which might also be the root of my previous ''verbal'' toxicity.

Anyway i what do you guys think? I know this could be argued both ways but do you guys think that a permanent ingame mute should mainly be the ultimate punishment for ''verbal'' toxicity and the bans for gameplay related offenses? Yes, no, and if so, why?

Permanent mutes aren't an answer. Players that want to lash out and cannot due it via chat, will do it through other methods. We have a lot of data backing this up.

We don't want money from toxic players. We want them to stop playing.

They tried infinitely stacking chat restrictions in the past, but too many people who got that would end up inting/trolling, which takes longer to verify and punish. That's when they switched to the current system. Blame those that came before for ruining it for you.

Personally, I think there should be another ban between 14 day and permanban.

Agreed with Scuttle. Plus, I don’t want teammates who can’t communicate. I always run into those people who just /fullmute all at the start of a game and get gangbanged because they can’t see pings or chat. And I want teammates to be able to tell me what’s going on, too. Restricting toxicity should not come at the expense of hurting others’ gameplay.
