Plat 5 isn't that big of a jump from Silver 1. I'm Gold 2 and only play for season rewards. After promos I'm usually placed in Silver 1-2 and I really don't notice a major difference. Plat and Gold players just pay attention to team comp more. Subtle things like that matter. Skill wise I don't see a big difference. They can feed an Irelia same as a Silver player.
There are people who get to plat 5 after hundreds and hundreds of games. I saw one the other day who made fun of me for being Gold and said they were a better player because they were Plat. I peeped their profile and sure enough, Plat 5 after 600 some games this season.
You can get to where you're going if you have enough time. The system does reward grinding.
exactly , they are just purely plat players who got demoted and tilted and wanna ruin the game for others , happened to me a lot in Silver/Gold3

Maybe they used to be platinum and and their ability to play the game has significantly atrophied?
I used to be high Silver with a Gold 3-5 MMR (never played enough games to actually get into Gold in solo queue, but I would consistently play against players in low to mid Gold). I'm now solidly Bronze. That's not because I'm trolling, sandbagging, or otherwise intentionally playing below my ability. It's because I'm playing the game less, I'm paying attention to new changes in the game less and I'm getting into my late twenties.

I just made a post about this in PB about the Hashinshin ban. People that feed every game that go 2/19 never get banned cause at least they have kill and were "trying" yet Hashinshin that didn't have any means to get a kill in that game had 14 deaths, since he didn't want to afk in base and get reported for afking got dove over and over so he ended with 14 deaths and instantly got suspended. It's BS.

They probably intentionally try to bring down their MMR down to play versus worse players and hardstomp.
One game we had an Anivia that walled people off to kill them, another game we had a Malph that fed Trist 6 kills in the first 8 mins, and while I was STOMPING my lane as Trynd, it didn't matter because everytime I tried to split he just followed me around and our team got bodied.
