Toxic

Ok so this is it, why is every type of trash talk being considered toxic behavior, my main point here is there are plenty of 15+ yr olds playing this game and as with any other form of competition there will be serious trash talk shit talking and so on, whether on your team mates for screwing something up or the enemy either way it's a fundamental strategy to any sport, i.e. Getting in there heads and yes I know you shouldn't be negative towards your own team but come on now we've all had that 1 guy/girl do something just down right stupid and we call them out on it which leads to even more shit talking do I agree with people going all ape shot and swearing chancer and death or serious harm no but in the end this is a video game over the Internet no different then a game of COD you'll rarely if ever see that person/s . Like you were taugh back in the day sticks and stones now I'm not sure if it's just the lack of character in today's youth but I mean come on I can call you just about what ever I want and yea your feelings may get busted but uhm you'll live now if I start hitting you with a blunt object now we ha e a problem. Honestly I'm just tired of kids using the word toxic for everything it's annoying, even with this tyler1 I never knew him literal just seen a video of him was he toxic no was he an asshole yes. Which brings me to the case n point don't call chat toxic or whatever call that person intentionally dying or afk or actually wasting your time by forcing you to lose toxic, plus it's easy to trash talk back in a funny way to bring the team morale back up, anyways I'm sure my grammar was horrible for all you police sue me

You don't get banned for trash talking in a funny way. I do that all the time. Not even a chat restriction.

Considering I consistently taunt my opponents in all chat whenever I play Super Galaxy Rumble or Dunkmaster Darius and I have not been punished ONCE... I think you need fries for your salt.

Trash talk is viable in real world sports because you are usually face to face with the trash talker or shoulder to shoulder with the people that would support you. There is a whole mess of body language and vocal inflection that can change the impact of the trash talk, and just a simple pat on the shoulder from a buddy is enough to lessen the impact or remind you of the goal. You know and are familiar with the players on your team because you have trained with them for years, and that brings an enhanced ability to ignore the baiting. Heck you even know some of the opponents because you have been playing against them year after year.

This is not the case in LoL. 9 times out of 10 you are playing alone with strangers. You don't know your team, and you don't know the enemy team. You can't read the inflection in their voice because there are no voices. You can't read the body language because all you have is an animated avatar. You likely haven't trained with anyone you are playing with and even if you had they can't pat you on the back if you get in a bad mood about a play or what someone on the enemy team said. Heck they can't even tell if you are in that bad mood until you type something in chat(which will probably be negative because your in a bad mood). As a result from their perspective everything was fine until suddenly you just started bm'ing in chat.

TL:DR The bottom line is that LoL is not an environment that supports trash talking. You don't have the tools to recognize it. You don't have the tools to properly defend against it. You don't have the tools to identify when a teammate needs support as a result of it. You don't have the tools to properly provide that support.

You can trash talk if you think you can do so without baiting reports, but the environment of the game itself(and very nearly every multiplayer video game) makes partaking in it an extremely risky endeavor.

Yes I understand it's not as similar to actual sports but still I think it's said that young adults find it necessary to just report people instead of fighting back via chat or within the game via skill, I've never been restricted in anyway but reading all the posts and what not since this ban of Tyler 1 just makes it seem to me that people are a lot more sensitive now
