Dear; Riot I want a** full refund** of the rp points that i spent you ban people for inappropriate language. Riot dont even review what went throught the whole game. Youre just basing it on the number of reports a player gets. Sure the guy got it screen shotted but you didnt review the whole scenario. One the example is the last game that i had, someone called an adc but then picked thresh on purpose just to troll. As a competitive player it wont be helped if I typed in some harsh words. He started the bad conversation first when he cursed at me. As a man i needed to retaliate words of course. Samethings goes for the other reports that I had.I really hope this banning of policy of yours changes. I hope you take this as a consideration. Now if I am permanently banned all I want is a refund. I am one of those people who supported LOL and without us you are nothing...maybe just maybe if this is the way you treat youre supporters then...maybe youve just proved that DotA is better than you. sincerely a LOL supporter

First of all, you are not going to get a refund. You agreed to the ToU when first starting the game and for every patch after that and you willingly broke that agreement. Not only that, but you broke it enough times for Riot to decide to finally permanently ban you. Either that or your behavior was severe enough for Riot to instantly escalate you straight to a permanent ban. Either way though, you aren't getting a refund.

He started the bad conversation first when he cursed at me. As a man i needed to retaliate words of course.

Okay, so as a "man," you feel the need to retaliate against a complete stranger whose opinion you shouldn't care about at all? No, as a "man," you should be mature enough to mute the person who's flaming you and report them if you find it necessary. As a "man," when someone starts acting like an asshole towards you, you don't start being an asshole back. The whole "he started it " argument is not what a "man" should be using.

I'm curious why you think you deserve a refund on goods you received, but no longer have access to because you broke the terms of use and got yourself banned? You didn't pay for ban protection, you paid for champions or skins. Punishment isn't based off the number of reports you get, 1 report triggers an investigation on a game. Punishment isn't based off of how other people acted, either. It's based on what you do. You're punished for your actions, no one else's. If someone says something that offends you, rather than say something that will get you banned, the best option is to just mute them and report them after the game. While it may have felt good to you to throw back insults and BM in the heat of the moment, you only end up regretting the decision when you're sitting there unable to play the game without making a new account.

<- This account got permabanned. I am going through nicotine withdrawal and teammates lock in a champ I had highlighted in champ select. Talks to his friends, but not to me (cuz muted instantly in-game)

So yea, I get trolled, I rage, I get perma-banned.

I guess the lesson is simple. MUTE, DON'T TALK, TROLL SOMEONE IN A META STYLE.

Yeah, I get it RIOT. You got a feedback system that flawed... but it is WORKING to a degree right? I mean, you banned me! :D I am apparently so troll or toxic that perma is the only solution. Nevermind the fact that I am honored more than I am reported, or the fact that I have literally spent thousands of hours.

5 years to be exact

on this account almost daily. (par maybe a day in the week. That's right people, 6 out of 7 days)

I play league more than I have any other game in my 27 year old life... and I rage less often than most people I know.

But seriously, I get trolled and I am supposed to be the nice guy about it and try anyways?

From my perspective, league of legends has a few willy nilly twisters in it. People that intentionally troll dont do it to get in trouble or get attention anymore. A lot of these new trollers are with friends, and do things intentionally to troll a particular player in the game. I see it with all chat, I see it in team chat, I have literally seen people troll their adc's, etc etc

What I have ALSO seen, 4 man queue going into a ranked match, everyone but jungle is on teamspeak/curse/facebook w/e

The random is jungle... starts a gank top, then gives up first blood to enemy top laner. People range on teamspeak... random says hes sorry, but instead of it stopping there, the 4 man team will start taking jungle camps... via last hitting, lux lazer you name it. I seen this a few times... and on the enemy team how am I supposed to know whats going on eh? I added the random lil jungle guy, turns out he got chat restriction for raging at those 4 players that game... and he later become a duo friend of mine. We laughed and had fun... played multiple games together. He hasn't raged once in the many games we played.... but a TWENTY GAME CHAT RESTRICTION??

so, how, in my honest opinion, would one improve your feedback system eh?

GOOD QUESTION!

The answer is actually not simple, never really is though is it? ... but you need some sort of history. You need PATTERN to determine if a person is consistently TOXIC. Coming from you guys at RIOT, I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up. How long it takes to flash from fountain to fountain is a neat statistic but I think how often a person is reported or honored is another good one. I have done the tribunal before too, and letme tell ya, people of ALL AGES do tribunal... I mean that in a passive aggressive tone.

I guess I am ranting for being perma-banned. <-- I dont even know if I am spelling it correctly because this is the first game in 27 years that I have ever been banned from. (and I have played dota wc3 with icefrog, dota tft with eul, dota2, HON, RoTF, HotS and others) Never once have I been banned there.

First step action: Chat Restriction Second step action: Permanent Ban.

It is not reality or law that I question; but RIOT's ethical standing.

More or less, blanket bans or blind target example bans, are not good remedies to toxic behavior. It'll generate an overall anti-enjoyment mentality that won't go away. Accounts have a memorabilia and sense of progress associated to them. Playing league after losing that is 'tilting', 'triggering' and overall, mood changing. So I question the ethical reasoning behind permanent bans on people that have crossed the line of personal injury or mental anguish. If it's insults and intentional feeding, that's a temp ban, as a warning that you are seen you've been caught, now correct yourself, or face permanent death to your account. That, to me, seems like a better solution to toxicity in this community. That would prevent the loss people go thru when they feel unjustified with their insta-perma bans. (I know of quite a few people that have perma's and no temp bans)

Also, toxic attitude? Really. Every game I have been in has toxic attitude. The crazy thing is those few games where you are losing and no one is flipping out and blaming people. That's the crazy thing, and, that's also old school league. BACK in the day, it was like that, now it isn't. The reason to me? Less concern, less care, multiple on multiple accounts.

I think a better registration system needs to be in place for account usage, and I have a solution for that. DNS look-up followed up with simple IP Tracing on the server side of league will pretty much tell RIOT who owns that IP address.

For houses and apartments that use basically static IP addresses (or a public IP address that doesn't change), then assign an account to that IP address and limited the account creation to one account to that IP. THEN, if there are children, or brothers, sisters, room mates that which want to use the same internet to play as-well, they can go through an online verification process involving another email account assigned to the same IP address. You may wonder now, what's different than right now?

The online verification will use his name and address, STRICTLY, for account management and exploit prevention. Basically, instead of email accounts (that change) and account names (which change too) we'll then be assigned accounts based on our NAMES AND ADDRESSES. This way, when toxic behavior occurs, it is addressed to the ADDRESS or NAME instead. This makes punishment more real, and less exploitable. Smurfs and boosting and intentionally throwing games because I have other accounts will happen less over time as the punishments are quickly realized and understood.

If a friend comes over and wants to get on THEIR account, then they have to go thru a captcha like system and enter personal information to confirm that said person is owner of said account. Exploiting the captcha system is temp ban initially by 14 days, and second offense is permanent ban. On that note, if a revised account management is developed, then the report review RIOTers will need to be uniform in their decisions (if they aren't already) and also be more lenient, for this scenario, I'd highly suggest removing permanent bans and remind the rule violator each time they are temp banned, or restricted etc, that next season will have PERMANENT BANS and the behavior the violator is displaying is a likely candidate.

I am just doing this as part of a morning routine I usually have before work. So I want to apologize ahead of time if things seem slightly bunched up or scrambled. I didn't have any time to proof read or think things through adequately. I just had thoughts and threw them down. If you have problems about my train of thought, let me know, and I'll re-write this whole post when I get back home. I rather have people talk constructively rather than denouncing everything, and if that's case, I'd be happy to spend a few minutes going over this all until you are satisfied.

PS: (I read articles, normally techie stuff, however, I came on here today due to ranked being down ;~; Sorry if I revived an old post! )

You aren't going to get anything back. You don't own the digital rights, you rented them. If the game were to be shut down you still wouldn't get your money back. You didn't buy a good you bought a service and that service has been provided. I agree that if you get banned you should get your money, time, and hours of frustration back, but reality and the law are not on your side.

Well for the fact that you think their report systems are bad makes me laugh a fair bit. One thing is, no matter how many people report a player, only one will be logged through that puts you on target, then for that you get viewed from what I'm presuming to be recent chat logs in-game from a rioter. After being reviewed it's their decision. By you saying "As a man I had to retaliate (to some troll I knew that I could've reported later in the game)" makes me cringe, "as a man" if anyone at all, you should be able to hold your immature self and simply ignore it. If not then you truly can't handle much at all...
