Incredibly hard to increase honor level once it has been dropped.

To all who're gonna come in and say "don't be toxic", I understand that. But, for those of us who sometimes let the game get to their head, they might get a chat restriction. Some might get even worse penalties, but for anyone who receives ANY kind of penalty (with the exception of leaverbuster), their Honor level is dropped to level 0, and locked there.

Now, that's fine and all, and a pretty fitting punishment. After all, you've found to be dishonorable, and potentially toxic to the community. However, the problem I have lies in the length of time it takes to increase your honor level once it has been knocked down. For my example, I started this account in June, wherein within the first few weeks, I had a chat restriction. Fair enough, I figured, and I have since been working to improve my mental and attitude towards others. I have not had a chat restriction since June, and have been working towards improving myself. However, 5 months after my chat restriction, and with one day left in the season, I'm sitting here staring at the measly honor level 1 I've had since June, and wondering how, despite the almost daily grind of playing this game, I still haven't been able to increase my honor level but just a tiny bit. Is there some hidden mechanic to how the honor works over the course of the season, or is the grind just that insanely hard for people who've lost their honor?

It's actually only dropped to level 1 if you only get one chat restriction. The only way to drop to level 0 is to either already be at level 1 and get another chat restriction, or to get a 14 day ban.

If you are not climbing in honor, there's two potential reasons: Not enough "active" play (i.e. 1-2 games per day on average, but not necessarily every day), or you're still being validly reported in games.

You don't have to be perfect to climb in honor. But if you're continuing to display dishonorable behavior, even if it isn't enough to merit another punishment, then it will take much longer to climb in honor.

It took me until last month to get Honor 5 over the course of the entire season, starting from Honor 2 in what, January? February? That's nearly 10 months. Honor climbing is supposed to be slow and take the entire season to get to H5. I've had to climb from locked honor in a previous season, I forget which. It takes time.

Well it's their very high IQ philosophy, take as fast as you can, but give back as slow as you can.

It's not impossible.

I got chat restricted back in march and dropped to honor level 1. Just hit honor 4 a couple days ago. Only took me 8 months, which makes sense since the honor climb is supposed to be a season long thing.

I had to do the climb twice in my league career sadly. Both times were very similar. Got punished in May both times and got honor level 2 in august both times. I was playing like 10+ games a day, just look at my account level if you dont believe me. Its a very good incentive to not be toxic especially when they tie honor to rewards at the end of the season. I think the system is fine, they make you think twice about touching the keyboard when you want to flame or argue back
