Player since Season 1 looking to Return, Has player toxcity improved?

Long story short, when i stopped playing regularly sometime around the start of season 4, i ran into so many toxic players i couldn't take it anymore. I really wanted to play competitive but my social anxiety issues prevented me from getting into it over fear of getting screamed at for one reason or another, which happened often both in competitive and outside of it and i ultimately stopped playing all together.

I'd love to come back on a more regular basis, But i have to ask, Has the issues with toxicity improved at all? I know i might sound like some overly sensitive baby or whatever, But i just dont particularly enjoy playing a game that is supposed to be for entertainment and leave getting called curse words i didn't even know existed.

I'd say definitely. Sure, you can still run into the occasional toxic player, or if you're unlucky you might get a couple of them, but it's a vast improvement to what it used to be. Personally, I get very few toxic players on my teams. Maybe it's because I stay positive ;). Having a good attitude can be infectious. Unfortunately, the opposite can be said as well.

If "toxicity" is enough for you to stop playing a game, you may just want to stick with single player games.

The fact people are downvoting your thread should tell you enough

I've only ever ran into a hamdful of toxic players since season 2. I can count them on one hand. So i never relate to these questions because what you count as toxic i don't.

I suggest getting into the game and trying it out yourself, no one here can tell you if something will hurt you or not

I have been around since you quit, I would say it has improved. BUT it is the internet so trolls be here, just don't feed them and remember this rule "Mute, Report, and Move on". Everyone has bad games and off days, so try not to let them get to you. If you want to add me, go ahead you seem like my kind of person. Lyndris (same as here)

The higher elo you get the less toxic people you encounter.

Except for this, no not really. Have seen about the same amount of toxic people season 7 as the prior seasons.

purposeful feeding etc has been reduced imho. Will people say mean stuff? Sure, people won't change as a whole in such a short time.

Do you have options to deal with it? Yes.

/mute all

is your friend. It's the only GUARANTEED way that you will NEVER get yelled at IN GAME. Not much to be done about end game screen other than ignoring the chat and leaving.

Its kind of hard to say. Especially if you frequent these boards like i do. While in game ill admit i rarely see toxicity, but when i come on these boards and see people's chat its clear that it is still out there. Probably not as bad as before, but then again ill admit i dont play as often as i use to years ago! So i would say if anything it has gone down, but not by much, especially since people are getting smarter with their toxicity and ruining people's games in other ways!

I don't understand why, when people are feeding and don'tt listen to your repeated requests to please stop pushing so far or to ward, they think they're immune to being told that they're doing something wrong. Everyone automatically goes "LOL ur toxic" and running to the enemy team "report [inset champ here] mad cause I died." It's an online video game. I think people should grow a little thicker skin or just mute everyone and don't ever get better or maybe just maybe take peoples advice, however flamey it be, and ward up, watch the map, don't push up so far and people wouldn't flame. Edit: I accidentaly deleted the first post

From my experience it has, but then again I rarely encounter in-game toxicity as it is partly due to playing mostly co-op vs. ai and FGMs. No matter what though there will always be players online looking to be the evil babysitter Vicky and ruin the experience of others for their own enjoyment. As long as you don't say or do anything you know will just tick other people off (including retaliation) and mute/report the Vickys when need be then you should be fine.
