Ranked exam

Okay, how about if there was created a BRIEF EXAM of actually being able to enter the RANKED games system, because lately (about a year and half) I have been experiencing newbies and people misguiding themselves about ranked games about just a NORMAL GAME. However, my point is, that Ranked games have always been more valuable and well respected among LOL society, but with a new generation of players, the essence of is just fading away, thus, I would love to encourage anyone to save Ranked games in order to sustain competitive.

In my opinion, when there should be some kind of brief tutorialistic exam about the Summoner's Rift on lvl 30 added. Majority of players do not even check the patches updates, do not learn about champs, do not care about the game at all. Tons of older players are simply giving up on the game and rather leave it to the younger generations.

It would be really awesome if players started to care about the game again, not just going to play "some game." If so, DO NOT allow these players to enter the Ranked system, because it is just outragous to be constantly stressed out of being accused and flame others for their own lack of knowledge about the game.

Thank you and would love to hear some proposals for changes, because the value of ranked is on a high decline, which is really frustrating,

What the fuck would this exam consist of?

I play sometimes 10+ games a day during some times of the year, and I can’t tell you the AP/AD ratios, the values items provide, etc. I look at them in the game I’m in.

I can’t tell you the names of abilities or their exact features. I can tell you that certain champs may have a snare, root, stun, but I probably couldn’t differentiate between them.

None of that is important - we aren’t getting a PhD in League of Legends Science. We are playing a game. And you and I may differ in the opinion as to the best strategy. There is no right answer.

Q: How AD does Vayne have at lvl1 without items and runes?

A: 68?

system: lawls, you wrong. It's 63.

Player: Fk, I'm 5 AD off.

I'd say someone will post all the answers to your "exam" within 30 minutes of it being released.

With the internet, wtf would an exam accomplish? You could just go look up the answers as you do it. Terrible idea.

Also, they should have a vision score map. It would ask players where the best places to put wards are at a certain time in the game. If they do not get at least a 60% passing rate, they cannot enter ranked and must take the test again.

I don't understand the point of a "tutorialistic exam" outside of trying to bar out players who wouldn't want to put up with said exam. You can't make something that will perfectly help all groups of players, and, in general, exams aren't a great way to teach anything, either; if all you need to do is get the answers right on the test, then there's no real need to understand why the answers are right.

And, of course, ignoring the obvious discrepancy between high skill and low skill players in what value the exam would have, there's also the fact that people learn in vastly different ways from one another. I, personally, have difficulty in being taught by another, and in fact learn better through practice than through tests or lectures. I can't get better by having someone tell me how to do better, I have to go through and work to get better.

Likewise, there are people out there who absorb information better through reading guides or being told by someone how to play. And, on top of this, you have to consider a person's willingness to learn. If someone doesn't want to learn anything, they're not going to learn anything, and it doesn't matter how many exams you shove in their face.

If your goal is to teach players, you're not going to be able to get great impact out of an exam. It just can't help all the different learners there are to help.

So all it really boils down to is that this idea, plain and simple, really only serves to try and gate players out of Ranked through making it an unenjoyable process to get into it. At least, that's the way I see it.

TL;DR

"I'm better than everyone, my teammates are holding me back, I'm not climbing in rank and it's not my fault."

Ranked is not only for those that wish to be competitive, it is also for those that would like to play games with people close to their skill level. Inexperienced players will soon be where they belong. And if you're truly good, you'll soon be where you belong.
