I am becoming toxic because of the negative attitude of the community i see

I have been playing as teemo recently and have found him very fun and have had good success with him, I cannot que a single time if i hover him to let my team know beforehand or else my own team will ban my champion, when I select him i get backlash and harassment constantly (and thats if i can even pick him because of my own team banning my champ) and every game i play I have someone constantly yelling about how im a troll and a feeder just because I pick teemo, even when game ends and I have highest damage dealt and kill participation. they yell to report me because i picked teemo. just because of the communitys closemindeded ness and everyone raging about a teemo pick in the first place players are refusing to beleive that a teemo pick can do nothing, therefore i also have no jungler pressure cause it's a teemo lane, i also get yelled at constantly for playing him and i've been becoming toxic as fuck in the last few days because I can't play a single game without toxicity coming from elsewhere and I'm tired of it.

Well historically, Teemo is THE troll pick. Playing against him is annoying and unfun. Everyone in the community has played against him at some point so that is at some level where the hate is coming from. It feels bad to play against and with a Teemo . Also, if other people are making you toxic, I recommend muting and/or taking a AFK break between games so you can realign yourself. I'm not blaming you but just trying to give helpful advise.

How am I supposed to play a game and not be toxic if I cant play the person I want to play because my own teams being toxic?

BlueThingamajig5/14/2016, 2:25:58 PM1 votes

Hey mate, if people are harassing you, try your best to ignore them (also: Mute them). If you are confident in your teemo play, then play teemo. Don't let the haters stop you, just try to stay calm and play your game.

And if they are flaming you, you have the option to report them. Let your play and the mute button defend yourself

Try not to become toxic because your teammates are toxic. It perpetuates the toxicity of the community.

Unfortunately Teemo is considered, by some, a toxic pick. I'm accepting of Teemos on my team, but not everyone feels the same. Thus, it's not a bad idea to diversify your champion pool in case others are highly disapproving of Teemo. I'm sure there are other champions that are also fun for you to play.

when they flip in champ select, just simplely say "trust" and most people shut up.

You are becoming toxic because you do not know how to cope with things you see in the game. Many players are in this community and many players do not become toxic because of it. Read these boards to try and understand what appropriate behavior is and then try to emulate that in the game.

In short, don't blame others for your toxicity. You can be frustrated, you can be annoyed. Just don't be toxic.

No, you're becoming toxic because you don't have self-control.

Yeah it's left me pretty jaded. I've gone through a bunch of phases and I'm at the point now where I simply do not give a single f*ck about winning or losing. I'll play to have fun, as that's how games are intended to be played.

If someone wants to throw a hissy fit because it makes them feel better, then consider the game less optimized towards winning. If people are willing to moan and whine and roast people for poor reasons, then they're not willing to win the game at all costs. I'm fine with reducing my efforts to that of theirs. That's how I deal with it now.

They aren't yelling at you because you are playing Teemo, they are yelling at you because you are playing Teemo SUPPORT. And no, you don't have the highest damage dealt or the highest kill participation in most of your games. If you want to play Teemo that's fine but play him top lane where he is best. You complaining that people are calling you a troll being you go Teemo support is like me complaining that people are calling a me a troll when I go Vel'Koz ADC. If you don't play a champion in their BEST role in ranked then you will be called a troll because you are hurting your team's chance at winning.

Congratulations on becoming exactly what you hate about this game. I love it when people say "I'm tired of people raging/trolling at me so I'm going to rage/troll." Awesome dude. That's like someone saying "I was beaten as a kid and I hated it so I'm going to beat my kids too!"

It's best to just mute them yeah... As another said before. it's just a dumb old joke about Teemo being satan that turned into hate, which people seem to allow. Getting so worked up over a game shows they impulse control issues that wont get them far..

It might be because you are playing Teemo Support, which is about as non-traditional as they come. You are performing well, however, so keep it up! Just tell your teammates that you are doing well with that character, and if they keep berating you, simply mute them. Best of luck!

Having played over thousands of games with Teemo, I can confirn your claim.

I get raged at and my teammates ignore my pings. When we lose it is because I picked Teemo, not because they fed hard in laning phase or did not follow my pings.

They tend to not cooperate with me at all. When I splitpush, despite me begging them to do something of value, they would rather afk farm when 2 or more attempt to gank me. Junglers tend to ignore your lane and would rather not do anything than gank another lane; meanwhile you get ganked a lot even when you freeze the lane near your turret.

Also don't choose Teemo as your pick intent in champion select; they will ban him. When they flame me I report them under the "verbal abuse" and the "hate speech" category.

When your opponents kill you or win they sometimes trashtalk you; this is something that happens very rarely or not at all when I play any other champion.

But this is meant to happen. This game's community is toxic and you should accept it. I used to watch The Rain Man back then in late season 2 when I started playing Teemo. I am not defending him or anything; I am not a fanboy of his and I stopped watching him a while ago because he became too toxic. He was actually a nice guy but I saw him slowly fall into toxicity and the main reason was his teammates' attitude towards him.

It does not matter which champion you play you should support your teammates despite them being toxic towards you. Do not respond to enemies provoking you. Just ignore them. I bet I got reported many times for no reason by playing Teemo and never once did I get punished. It is your fault that you are becoming toxic, not the Teemo haters' fault.
