Can I request permanent chat restriction for myself?

I think the majority of my toxicity is due to the fact when i'm in the moment of trying to analyze why things are not going my way, I'm unable to just take a seat back and not voice how things could have gone better. I think a majority of my problems in my case specificly would be solved if I was unable to type.

Now, Keep in mind mute-all is there, but I'm 80% sure if something goes wrong i'd more then likely say something somebody somewhere in the world considers offensive. My issue is not so much all the time what others say, rather what I'm saying.

EDIT: this would be just for as soon as I arrive in-game. Not like an actual mute where I can't speak to my friends list.

Maybe you could learn to filter yourself like a mature responsible individual, since you need to learn to do this in real life without a “self-mute button” anyways.

Take it upon yourself. It’s practice. The worst thing is you fail and get a chat restriction. Biiig deal. Not.

While their wording could have certainly been better, sneakydoug is right. You should be able to develop self-control and learn to prevent yourself from making negative remarks.

IMO, I think the whole "self-chat restriction" deal could only be humored if it came with an Honor cost.

Is the chat button bindable? Maybe you could bind it to a key that's hard to reach or unbind it altogether.

Easy enough to just pop the enter key off your keyboard, honestly. Put it back on when you're done playing

They refuse, I've asked them this a few times. You can actually drag the chat window off the screen almost entirely though, which is decent. You could probably hide it behind your minimap and then it'd take some finagling to get it back on-screen.

As a side note, you gotta chuckle at how many people come to threads like this to tell you to just "control yourself bettter."
