Recently Recieved a 14 Day Ban
I received a 14 Day early in December. I would say I didn't deserve it, some would say I did. But either way I received it, I dealt with it, and moved on. I decided to come back with a positive attitude and mindset to play, have fun and practice for ranked.
I was reading a lot into ways to stay positive and not be toxic, because I was feeling as though maybe I was the problem in some of the games I was losing. I found a lot of people saying that they just mute all at the start of game so they don't see anything anyone says and they don't type they just play and focus on their gameplay. So that's what I did and have been doing and will continue to do so I do not lose my very valued account.
What I have to say after a few days of this strategy is... I am losing so many games. I am losing much more now than when I was toxic. My teams are all dead within first 3 mins almost everygame, turrets are rarely taken, wards are unheard of after the first ward is placed. I am starting to wonder if Ill ever feel what its like to win a game or even have a relatively close game ever again.
My thoughts are that me NOT being toxic is what is the variable factor in this experiment. Without me there to "flame" my team, they just go on and on getting wrecked over and over. {When I say flame, I mean "Thresh ward riv bush" or "try not to feed fizz, just play close to your turret early game and well be good late game" Saying this in game will and has gotten me reported after game or lead to them flaming me for "telling them how to play" eventually leading to reports and more flaming.} The thing is that even though I "flame" them, they take what I say into their brain. If I am reminding him a few times during a game to ward, maybe he is new and not aware of the importance of wards? He might get mad or upset that somebody is giving him solid advice, but he will take that advice and most likely use that in the next games; ultimately becoming a better and more skilled player.
I can honestly 100% say if it was not for toxic, flaming, raging players that I would not be near as good as I am today(how good I am is debatable). Sure they can rage a little too much and ruin some games, but ultimately I take what they say and learn from my mistakes that they pointed out.
Now that I am not communicating with my teams in fear of being permabanned over giving advice, the games are just not fun. I cannot communicate with my teammates that they should ward more or ward certain bushes instead of other bushes. I cannot give champion tips or call out drag/baron reminders. I ping as often as I can but players usually get more annoyed with pings.
In conclusion I think that if NA wants a more skilled player base, they will need to lighten up on the bans and understand that toxicity leads to players learning and trying to become better players overall. If NA wants a friendly casual player base, they should keep on the track they are going now. They should remove ranked from the picture all together though, because at this point in time its not a competitive game. You cant be a competitive player in this community because the direction is fun and friendly, not competitive. Its misleading and poor business to try and go this hard for a "fun/friendly/competitive/ranked" community. I think fun and friendly should be important, but at this point it is overboard on the fun and friendly.
I am not saying I will be toxic, I will follow Lyte's lead and mute everyone and continue to lose and watch the players around me learn nothing each and every game.
