Account banned due to the use of malicious 3rd party programs or modifications to your client

Hi all!

I just received a mail telling me that my account was banned due to the use of malicious 3rd party programs or modifications to your League of Legends client. This came as a surprise to say the least, as haven't played much the last month at all, and I have checked my match history, I do not think my account was hijacked.

This is what I wrote in a ticket to Riot:

Hi!

I just received a mail regarding my account "marquistoken" and that it has been banned due to the use of malicious 3rd party programs or modifications to your League of Legends client.

I'm uncertain as as to what "malicious 3rd party programs or modifications" you are referring to, as the only software I use with League of Legends are nVidia Shadowplay for recording and rivatuner for hardware monitoring. None of these are malicious or can be used to gain an advantage.

Besides, I haven't really played much besides 2-3 TFT games in the last 20 days or so. Seems odd that this ban didn't occur earlier.

I did however get a new M.2 SSD this black friday, and thus I migrated my OS over to the new disk. As I had to format both the old and new SSD, I simply copied the game client and game folders over to an HDD. After that, the first time I booted up the client I saw a new small screen (with Ekko and a blue bar as far as I can remember) I hadn't seen before, that said it was repairing files, but after a few seconds I was able to log in without a problem. Since then that new screen persisted, saying it had to either repair or verify files, but the client worked fine every time, so I didn't think much of it. The .exe I was opening with a desktop shortcut was "LeagueClient" and not "RiotClientServices" if that makes a difference.

My best guess would be that this process has triggered an automated system that flagged my account. If that's the case, I'm hoping that a manual verification would confirm what I'm telling, and the issue can be resolved.

Best regards

Has anyone seen or heard of something similar? Do I stand a chance resolving this, or am I just going to get generic bot answers telling me that permanent bans are permanent?
