No reason not to. adc would get more exp being solo. Really abuse able top with the right champs. If my adc pisses me off no reason to be there if its not going to lead you to winning. Had better options [cass-cry]

Lane swaps are a thing, but if you are going to constantly do that in Ranked or draft pick, then you better communicate your intentions properly so your team can follow through with your plans.

As long as youre playing to win, its not reportable.

There is a tactical benefit to abandoning the adc if there is a greater utility for the support in another lane.

Support plays Janna with a Yasuo mid? Make sure your bottom lane is safe, and then roam to him after he hits 6. Q and his ult will get effective results.

That being said, leaving your adc at minute 1? Not a wise choice. There has to be some modicum of protection and even power distribution in all lanes during laning phase, otherwise any efforts of a roaming support can be destroyed pretty quickly. It honestly depends on how you leave, why you leave, and whether or not you're benefitting the team by doing so. Abandoning lane from the word GO puts the onus on your jungler to hide on the bottom side of the map, which sets him back, and you back, and ultimately the entire team back.

So TL;DR is it reportable? On the surface, no, but if you sabotage your team regardless of outcome, that can and should lead to a penalty.

if i know my adc is garbage yeah ill leave his dead weight bot lane and get my other lane ahead by being a roaming support and invade with my jungler also. so no its a way to win.

God damnit, every response is different...the idea isnt trolling, but to legit help my top take tower first and or get kills.

It is reportable / punishable ?

hm opinions in the comments seem to differ from what they said like a year ago. ppl told me that its okay du sup another lane if you cant play with the adc for whatever reason

pretty sure strategical differences are not reportable. if he is supporting and trying to win i dont think it would be punishable.

It is reportable, but I don't think it would be punishable. Unless your adc needs you (thats just a dick move if you leave em)

I recall that there was a double jungle hybrid support that would leave their ADC for long periods of time to try and counter jungle the enemy and they got punished for griefing their ADC because they didn't communicate the strategy and unilaterally doing so, made laning incredibly difficult for the ADC's that person was supporting and so they ended up getting punished.

So my answer is maybe you might get punished but I'm not 100% sure.

Really depends. Imo if your botlane is a lost case, it's better to start roaming all around the map, like a second jungler, so enemies will try to follow up, and your ADC will have a chance to come back by farming all by himself (if he isn't a monkey Lucian 0/87 trying to 1v1 the 924/0 Jinx )

Blinds or a draft queue?

Blinds is more acceptable without needing to discuss it.

Draft, as it is out of expected positioning; should at least discuss it first.

Yes, it is reportable. However, the real question is; is it punishable?

Yes and you will probably get punished for it, since it directly impacts a teammates enjoyment of the game. If you want to support your premade without them having to play ADC, I recommend trying the Chinese boosting strat or one of it's variations.
