About banning ''toxic'' behavoir and Tyler1
It's crazy how you can't even have the freedom to say what you want in the chat of a freaking video game anymore. What's even more crazy is that so many of you are brainwashed into thinking that it is actually a good thing for us (the players) to punish people for it with a permanent ban. You really need a daddy to protect you on a video game for words being typed? You really want game companies to have the power to take a game away from you for what you type in-game? It boggles my mind... kids have gone so soft these days it's pathetic. If this trend continous, every big game company will have a freaking digital courtroom in the future.
''B-but my fragile body can't handle mean words being typed in a game, what is your solution to this then?'' Mute them!
And 99% of the games I play end up with someone saying: ''please report [playername] for feeding/toxic''. Just because they are frustrated that they lost. Having a punishment system like this only results in a witchhunt of players focussing on blaming others for their loss, instead of just enjoying the game and having to just accept defeat. It creates the hostile environment you (Riot) actually wants to prevent. This punishment system is not working, it only puts fuel on the fire by making people focussing more on their allies actions than their own.
Don't you guys see what's going on? One of the most popular players is perma banned now (Tyler1) and the Riot post about it has 1,3k downvotes and counting.
Only cheating should be reportable. It would be nice to ban griefers too, but if they are not actually saying in chat that they are griefing, you can't possibly tell if he/she is just bad or actually griefing. So a report option for griefing just doesn't work and like I already said: makes people focus too much on other players in the match than enjoying the game itself.
Just wanted to share my thoughts, I hope it will atleast make some people question if this punishment system is actually the direction you want the future of gaming to go to.
