i have actually never posted on this before and i would hope i am respected. Trolling is out of hand now a days. i just got done a match with my boyfriend and he banned Teemo, someone had selected him for adc but was a bottom pick, because he didn't want too vs teemo in lane. the adc and support both decided to flame on both me and him for no reason. i had never even said anything and i am being called names. the jungle at this point locked in and then left after the game started. they were soo toxic that i am regretting into this game at all.. toxic people are a disease to the game.. what more can be done about it? i just got back to after because sexually harassed on the game because i am a female gamer. what more can be done except reporting?

so your BF banned your own teammates pick? That is just rude

While they shouldn't have flamed, your BF shouldn't have banned his pick, that's disrespectful, and is a refusal to properly communicate, and as such, is a reportable offence, known as griefing.

Besides reporting? Lead by good example. Don't be toxic to other players. Mute other players when they're toxic to you.

As for the afk? There's not much you could do about that in game. Just have to report and move onto the next game.

I personally don't like banning another player's champ they hover in select, but it isn't considered harassment.

There are always toxic players in any online game. It is much more prevalent in games where you rely on random strangers to win like COD or league and less in something like world of warcraft where you build a guild of friends to complete raids. Bringing together people who have never met before and relying on them or you fail causes a lot of issues, especially when a lot of gamers are teens or younger players who don't know how to control themselves yet.

My best advice is when someone is toxic is to flat out ignore it. You can strike back with a relatively non-toxic phrase but don't sit there and argue. They WILL sit there and argue all day and actually stop playing. However, if you ignore them, then they won't care. I always try to find humor in it because a lot of what they say is flat out wrong and is pretty funny when you think about how wrong and idiotic they are being. Especially when they keep going and knowing they are going to get a big fat report. And the ban system does work. If someone is running on and on spewing toxicity, not just one or two sentences or who is afking or legit trolling and feeding, they WILL get punished within 10-15 minutes after game. I've played well over a thousand games since the new report system and it bans the excessively toxic fast.

But one thing I will advise is if someone wants to play a champion on your team and has it highlighted. DO NOT BAN THEIR CHAMPION. That is just asking to be trolled. It's like being assigned a random team of coworkers you've never met before and instantly while putting forth ideas, you are telling them screw your ideas. Be considerate and let them play their champion because many consider it that YOU are the troll for banning their highlighted champion.

Examples as seen above:

I know it wasn't you and it was your boyfriend but they are just mad that they got banned out by their team and they see you are duo. Just some friendly advice to help prevent you from being trolled in the future.
