Getting harassed for playing a mid champ as an adc roll?

Look, I understand getting mad at someone for picking a certain champ in an off role. But harassing someone for it is not cool.

I picked Ahri as APC in a normal game. And these 3 players harassed me out of champ select just for playing the champ. I understand flaming someone for picking off meta, everyone has done it at some point, but I didn't even say anything rude to these guys prior or after they made their comments. It's not like I was running it down either, so what gives? Is this is type of behavior that's acceptable? I reported them all in the client for harassment, but when this happens there's usually never a penalty given. So hopefully writing something about it here will help someone, because these people are likely going around harassing people for fun.

This is my first time posting on the forums or even coming to the forums so I dont know if this is where I should post this, but I honestly am just fuming after that so hopefully I can get some feedback other than just /mute.

Just so you know, no one here can do anything about it. This is a community forum. Players talking with players. You need to send a support ticket if you actually try to get something done about it (not that it would do anything either).

As a side note, remove the names of those players. Naming and shaming is against the boards rules.

mute them, report them, and forget them. rinse repeat. its the only thing that can be done.

I understand getting mad about people flaming you, despite the fact you can just mute them.

But griefing people because you didn't get your desired role-- or worse, queueing up for a role you know the champion doesn't belong in-- is not cool.

And I'm not sure why there are still players who don't know what APC means. An ADC is a physical-damage character that provides sustained range damage, not the name of the position. You're not an APC just because you took them bot, same as how Darius wasn't an ADC just because he went bot in pros last year. An APC would be a champion who does the same job as an ADC, but with magic damage. Kayle's the main example, but Ziggs can also fill that role. A mage, though, is still a mage. Not an APC. You are playing a fundamentally different role.

Which is fine as long as it doesn't completely screw over your team comp. If you've got a Kindred jungle, or Quinn/Vayne/Kayle top lane, then you're probably fine.

But you, especially if it's your first time on the boards, need to learn that claiming "off-meta" doesn't justify griefing.

How can you report in client if you were harassed "out of champ select"? Did they add a new feature like this? O.o

BTW the Boards can not punish players, so we can not really help you in this one.

Lol i play anivia apc bot lane and i get a little excited when people harass me for it. They gon' learn! Anivia bot kicks dicks. But I dont pick it if everyone else is AP, because thats just not smart. You need some AD on the team. If thats why they harassed you, then you miiiight deserve it maybe?

I play Swain Support and get flamed all the time. At first I felt bad and did the same as you. But now I just lock it in and honestly it's great. I have a 70% win rate or so in ranked with him in that role and something like a 65% in mid Lane. Just do you man.
