We need a system for these cases

Okay, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has gotten into a game and says "don't ban X, I'm gonna pick it" and immediately sees said champion banned. It has happened twice to me today already (both with ), and I just don't think it's fair at all that I have to wait 5 minutes or stick to another champion just become some d*ckhead (sorry for that but I really hate this kind of behaviour) thinks he's funny. What I'm saying basically is that we need some sort system that allows us to get away from these scenarios without getting punished or compromising our own accounts (I've never had a ban not even for leaving and I certainly don't want to start now). I know it's complicated and tricky, but I've seen Riot solve worse issues, so I'm counting on you guys! And sorry if i was a bit disrespectful, just understand that I'm a bit mad right now.

The only real solution since Riot doesn't care is to never declare what champ you want.

I agree there needs to be the option to report players in champion select before a game even begins. That way, if you are forced to dodge, at least you know you are not the only one taking a penalty and their behaviour will be punished.

For your actual problem though, If its not a commonly banned champion, just dont display it until banning phase is over. Illaoi isnt banned regularly at all so you dont really need to ask teammates to keep it playable. It sucks that you have to do this for champs that are considered 'off meta' but its better than what you are experiencing now.

If it is commonly banned, you can ask, but teammates still have the right to ban it away if you arent first pick, or cant negotiate a first pick. Its often too risky to leave a top pick champ open, especially if you are 4th or 5th pick as the enemy team can steal it and use it against you.

NEVER show what champion you want. if you want to play your illaoi top then what is the point of showing it? no one is going to ban that champion so declaring it has no purpose. just show irelia or something and then pick the one you actually want.
