Mandatory linked bank account tied to your LoL account for IRL fines for Griefing (for ranked play)

It's shit like this, in ranked play, that I TRULY believe that there needs to be an active bank account tied to the account to AT LEAST tone down on behavior like this and issue fines to people who grief intentionally.

I don't care if you're having bad day, don't play league if that's the case. I don't care if your internet is shit, don't play league if that's the case. But when assholes like this, which are ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL too common these days in ranked, trying to climb is pure cancer and makes me never want to play.

I've climbed hard over the past month. I've gone from Bronze 4 to gold 4. I'd be MUCH higher if it were for pieces of shit like this in every 2-3 games. "Hurr durr wait till you're in [Insert rank here], it's even worse LOLOLOL"

Why is that even accepted though? Why is it acceptable behavior and something that's just "part of the game"? Update the TOS. Mandate a linked bank account tied to the LoL account and fine these assholes for doing shit like this. I'm ABSOLUTELY sick of it. i LOVE THIS GAME but people like this make the community worse.

Even just the threat of a IRL $50-100 fine for griefing would kill this type of behavior OVER NIGHT. This type of bullshit doesn't end unless there are REAL WORLD CONSEQUENCES for this type of behavior because as it stands they'll get a 3 day ban, or more, or even a permaban, and JUST MAKE ANOTHER FREE ACCOUNT AND KEEP DOING IT AND NOTHING CHANGES. NOTHING GETS BETTER. IT ONLY GETS WORSE.

New rule should be that you have to have a set minimum amount of riot points to play Ranked. For the sake of the argument lets say 500rp. If you get penalized for bad behavior in game RP gets deducted instead of actual money. Since you have to buy RP WITH real money it functions the same. Obviously, the more penalties the higher the cost to enter ranked play.

The game is 13+. Ranked is, therefore, 13+. Even if this was a good idea, it would not be feasible, as 13-year-olds do not typically have bank accounts or the ability to legally enter into that sort of arrangement.

The issuance of fines by a private company is questionably legal at vest., and likely illegal in some places. Generally, the limitation on punishment for private companies is prohibiting you from using their platform.

My goodness dude, it's a video game. Take it and yourself a lot less seriously, and trust me, you'll have more fun and win more games. You want real world consequences, but unfortunately, this isn't the real world. It's a game. As long as people are playing within the rules, they don't have to meet your standards of "ZOMG RANKED," as I like to call it whenever someone makes a thread like this.

Your LP gains or losses, and your imaginary rank in a video game are not going to matter to your REAL WORLD in 1, 5, 10 years. Try to have some fun.

There's legal issues involved when it comes to a COMPANY taking money from you that you did not authorize via a purchase. They'd have to get a bunch of lawyers involved to make all kinds of checks and consultations to ensure that nobody sues them for stealing money.

Your rank progress is also not worth someone else's money just because you don't like how they're performing. For all you know their account got hacked, or maybe they're sick and don't realize it yet but it's hindering their reaction time?

Honestly, I could come up with more reasons this would be all kinds of illegal, but I haven't slept more than ah hour in the last day, so... maybe I'll drop into Ranked for a few games? ;-) /sarcasm

I'm gone if they ever tried to use some bullshit like this. I don't grief, but I refuse to be potentially penalized for a false positive because a shitty game happened.

Yeah… sure… the same. Except now you actually have to pay the fine upfront just in case you might be punished at a later point. That's not better, that's worse.

This is a terrible idea. League's accounts aren't that incredibly secure in the first place. I've had one stolen from me and it was really unclear how it could've happened. But if your change went through great the thief empties my bank account instead of just enjoying my f2p skins
