Toxic & Unfair games in ranked
Recently, I feel like there has been a dramatic increase in toxic behavior in games. Some of this has lead to many "afk" players, or players leaving a game outright. In bronze que this accounts for at least 1 out of 10 games, although some nights it may be 3 or 4 games in a row. I propose a "simple" fix that would honor good/fair behavior while punishing the offenders:
- If leave buster detects a player as having gone afk during a game, they are afforded a typical warning.
- If leave buster detects a player has a habit of leaving games the following is enacted for any game they have been (a) reported as afk, and (b) detected to have gone AFK: > All remaining players who did not afk have LP gains doubled and LP losses cut in half. > Anyone who went AFK or left has their LP LOSS doubled.
Example: You are in a game with an upset Zed who decides to leave. Your team continues to play it out or /ff's and then reports Zed. The system will determine if Zed was detected by leave buster: if Zed is determined as having left or went afk the 4 remaining players get a 50% reduction in LP lost (for example 20 cut down to 10). Or if the team of 4 wins, they get a 100% increase in LP gained (for example 12 increased to 24).
Another thing that is perhaps as annoying as someone leaving is someone spamming /ff on cooldown. Perhaps the system could set a cap of a maximum requests for /ff at maybe 2 per game with a 15 minute interval between them.
